Default My modest collection.

From north/south left/right:

1) Taurus Millenium Pro PT145
2) H&R Model 940 .22
3) Star Model PD .45
4) Norinco SKS
5) Ruger M77 30-06

The only gun I have purchased is the Taurus. The Star & Norinco I inherited when my father passed away. The H&R and Ruger my uncle gave me.

Nice assortment!
I wish you had received the Star and Norinco under better circumstances, but I hope that they carry some personal value to you that you will have for a lifetime.

The Star caught my eye... at first I thought it was like mine http://s53.photobucket.com/albums/g5...t=100_1263.jpg
Essentially it's the same as a Star Model D (.380)

Thanks for sharing!

I wish so too, but I will definitely hang onto these forever. I had an issue with the star - the sear broke. I was able to get a new one for like $18 and put it in and it it is shooting great, but I bought the Taurus so I could use the Star a little less.

Yours and mine sure are similar. Have you had any issues with your Star?

MK41144,
Actually, mine isn't a Star, it's an F.I.

As I understand it, they are both copies of a Colt design (.380) that I'm not sure ever went into production. Iver-Johnson made them too. All are nearly identical. One difference is that my F.I. has a lanyard loop on the bottom of the grip.

The model D (.380) is like a baby 1911 w/o a grip safety. I do have one problem with mine... I think it needs an extractor as the empties don't want to eject on a regular basis. It was my first carry gun, but it's been sitting around doing nothing for several years now... gotta git 'r fixed!

Hey MK41144,

Thanks for posting a pic of your collection, I didn't realize you had that many firearms.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad, and I can't imagine what it must be like for you because I still have both my step father and my paternal father with me.

Take care,

Rand

So far so good. I bought it 2 1/2 months ago. Remington, CCI, Winchester, hollowpoints, all shoot great. I bought it because I liked how it felt in my hand as opposed to the S&W and Beretta I was also looking at.

My collection grew from 2 to 5 in 2 weeks with the purchase of the Taurus and my uncle giving me his 2 guns.

Losing my dad is the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with. May 18th was 7 years since he died.

Oh my gosh man, you were 15 years old. If you ever need a friend to talk to, I'm all ears, okay!

Take care,

Rand

P.S. If you are ever down here in my area, I'll take you out and show you a real nice time (I used to work in tourism/hospitality). As a matter of fact, we both could go to Philadelphia and paint the town red, lol! You know, I've always wanted to go to Philly and act like a tourist, lol!

Thanks man, I appreciate it. You know, it is amazing how you can find more compassion from complete strangers on the internet than you can from your own "family."

If I am ever out that way I will be sure to take you up on your offer. Same goes for you if you are ever in SW PA. Although where I'm at there is not a lot to see, but we could shoot off massive rounds of ammo.

How's that Smart Carry coming for you?
