Ronnie... did you buy the lowers from JB ARMS or did you Form 1 them yourself? I suppose if you got them from the deal it would explain the obnoxious location for the engraving.

Yes, I bought them from JB Arms. They are my first NFA items, so I figured I would have him do them. I did not know that the engraving was going to look like that.
I am going to black this one out, and I am going to give SBR Build - 2 a duracoat finish.

Next time I will do them myself.

All in all, I was just happy to finally get them, so I could put them together.

Good deal! What color are you going to duracoat? I've always thought some of the painted/coated AR's looked wicked nice but never have had the kahonas to do it to one of my own. Maybe with one of the new stripped lowers i'm getting.

keep up the good work!

My friend had his engravings done by a jewler while he waited.
You can even have them done by someone who does engravings on trophies or plaques.
But you cannot leave the item with them, you have to be present and wait.

NFA required markings have to be no less than 0.003" deep.

I was thinking Duracoat Combat Grey with black accessories. I prefer dark solid colors (but I kinda like the Coyote Tan too), and I am not really into camo patterns.

Combat gray! You read my damn mind. Camo... not my thing. Now I've got to see how yours turns out. I'm a big fan on OD green but not the greens I've been seeing people make their guns... something to pure about them.

Hmmmm....I wonder how much a jeweler would charge...

What you guys using for sbr barrels? Id prefer mid length gas with not much beyond the FSB.

I couldn't find anyone in pittsburgh to engrave, though I guess I didn't search outside of the north hills. I sent mine to orion arms, I think it was $37 including shipping which wasnt horrible and it was back in about 2wks which is much faster than the paperwork will be.

-UPDATED-

Like is stated in the build description, I was thinking about changing the SOPMOD Stock to a SOCOM M4 Stock.

My SOCOM stock just came in, and I swapped them out.

It is very comfortable, and strong. It is even a little lighter than the SOPMOD.

With LMT SOPMOD Stock

With Ace SOCOM M4 Stock
