Default A family photo with the new members

Last year the collection more than doubled in size when my grandfather passed away and I inherited his collection. I figured I would snap some shots so you all can see what ive got going on.

Top to Bottom
Marlin 22 lr
Marlin 22 lr
Ithica gun co 22
Winchester 22 hornet
springfield model 1898
Remington 35 pump action
Remington model 700m 7mm
Rueger 22

J.C. Higgins bolt action 16 ga.
Marlin 30-30
Savage 20 ga.
savage 12 ga.
Leever arms double barrel 12 ga.
Mossberg 243

When i turn 21 some of those will be going on sale so I can buy a hangun and maybe start an AR build. If you would like some more pics or info on any of them let me know.

I want to see more pics of that one !

how much $$$ does Hornet ammo go for?
my son shoots his granpap's Hornet bolt action sometimes and he says he loves it. I have never shot one.

What is the range, ect, of the 22 Hornet round?

Whooops!!! that is my mistake. I labled those wrong The lever action is a .22 made by the Ithica gun co. It is single shot and incredibly fun to shoot. My best friends has one of them as well and we enjoy taking them out and practicing with the open sites. The .22 hornet is the gun below it(I fixed the labeling) As far as the price of ammo for it, i cant tell you because i have never bought any, there was some with it when i got it, and i havnt used all of that yet. I do not know a whole lot about the differences between the lr and the hornet, what i do know is that the hornet is a centerfire and the Lr is a rimfire, and the hornet definetly has a longer range than the Lr as to how much more i dont know, maybe somone else is a little bit more knowledgable on the subject. I will post up some more photos a little later.

As far as trading in my grandfathers guns I really do not want to, and probobly wont. Just the thought of letting go of any of my guns, especialy those given by my grandfather, feels absolutly terrible.

Now for a quick rant- People write down the history of your guns! Write down when you got them who you got them from and anything else that partains to that particular gun. My grandfather did not do this and now I do not know anything about these guns. I know that at least one of them was handed down to him from his father but no one in the family knows which ones, and some of these guns are very old and i am sure that they have some sort of history behind them, and all of that is probobly lost. Every gun has its own story, dont let it die with you.

teh 1898 springfield is a .30-40 krag...and a former US service rifle that could have seen duty in teh S-A war. it was also made no later than 1904. though it has been altered(A.K.A sporterized) from it's original state.
