OK funny guy
, welcome to the club. First step would be to read this: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=226782 However for your first I would suggest buying a complete lower (parts already installed). Afterwards you will need to tell us what you intend to do with it. Since it's your first a 16" barrel length would be a good start. Based on guidance from some guys here I just ordered the Stag 2H for my recent build: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=22&t=143647 Dave |

Here's on of my oddballs. The stock is removeable at the touch of a button....although it would be a bad thing to do with the forward vert grip in place.

Here's mine. Buit from a stripped Bushy lower and a "complete rifle kit" from RRA http://www.rockriverarms.com/item-de...TOKEN=29557948

on rifles, no issue at all. However, watch your overall length on the gun with the stock off, folded is ok, collapsed is ok, but OFF completely may not be kosher under federal law. full auto Uzis can have detachable stocks, but on a semi, they cant I built all 3 of the rifles below from parts and or parts kits back in December 06. with the exception of the front upper, all the assembly, including uppers being barreled, and full builds from stripped lowers was performed by me, the old school AR in front was made from a M16a1 parts kit, upper already complete. all 3 lowers were made by DPMS. ![]() previous posts on these rifles : http://www.pafoa.org/forum/gun-pictu...-done-now.html and http://www.pafoa.org/forum/gun-pictu...-15-build.html

Love the A1 Jaybell.
I'm not really a big fan of the AR's, i don't know they just dont do it for me. But i have been looking for a A1 front handguard for a while now. As if i would buy one thats what i would want to do with it. I guess i'm just in love with those old school firearms lol

Here's a question....the local FFL is registerring all the stripped lowers as pistols as recommended by the BATF. I was actually there when he called. Is that kosher? And....here's another. She was my White Oak service rifle, 1/4 MOA pinned rear sight, 1:7 twist, free floated....69gr SMK under Varget was .5 MOA and often below. So good, my next USPSA standard rifle will likely come from that shop. |

Might as well post the Clark Gator......gurateed .5 MOA from the shop, JP adjustable gas block, Miculek brake, yadda, yadda, yadda...
And the other end of the spectrum. The Model 1, $515 complete, beater gun. Ate the first 1000 rounds of break in without cleaning the bolt and carrier. Most of it was Wolf. No failures. The only thing I changed was to put in a RRA hammer and sear I had laying around. I'll eventually throat the barrel doing bump fire demos...... |
