Default Re: Sig Sauer P6 (P225) ..New buy

I have one as well and they are great shooters. I used the SIG armorers CD to tear it down and replace a few of the springs. I also added night sights and I keep it as my home defense gun. I figure if I ever have to use it, and it is confiscated, I can replace it much easier than if I used a much more expensive pistol.

Mine shoots very well. I'm sure you will love it.

I tell ya, Sig P-6 is a great value for what they are.
Its well built, accurate, and dependable weapon.
Mine shows some holster wear, but other then that, its a keeper.
It could use some small toutch to make it perfect, such as lighter weight hammer spring, better sight, and better grip, and but otherwise, its about perfect carry gun.
I carry mine ALOT!

None the less...good find on a damn sexy pistol! I would have snagged it too!

Interesting..The original gun case has CIA Century International Arms Inc. yet the slide has CAI.

Mity2, What type of grip do you have? Also, I agree on the sights there jet black. The dealer said you can use and Sig sight (prefer night sight) in replace of old. Thte trigger pull is 4.5lb which isn't to bad. I've found that most steel frames fit my hand better then plastic which makes this gun perfect for me as well.

Thanks all for your comments...

My grip is one of those e-bay special. But at the time, it was either that, or pay $100+ for Pachimar rubber grip from back when P-225 was available(And NO WAY i'd pay that much for something that should cost no more then $10).

Yeah you can get just about any sig sight(Nightsight including) would work with P-6. You can also fit sight for SA XD as well.

SA trigger pull on P-6 is not bad. Or at least I think its decent.
But DA pull on P-6 is a bitch. I don't have trigger pull gauge,so I don't know exactly what it is, but DA trigger pull is just horrendously heavy. I was told pull on P-6 is something like 12.5lb~13.5lb.
Mixed that with fat trigger, makes first shot to be less accurate(at least for me). They are certainly not like commercial Sig DA triggers.

I would perfer something in the neigborhood of 11lb.
Also I found this browsing MidwayUSA caratogue fewdays ago, which I would like to try it out...
