Default My New AR-15 build...

Merry Christmas to me!(and all of you!)
some of the parts are years old that i got from various sources, cheap, like buttstock, springs, etc....I'll try to put a money value on parts for build cost

Specs:
DPMS forged lower ($90)
DPMS lower kit ($40)
buttstock (spare parts, but like $30 with tube/buffer/spring)
1/7 Colt Chrome Lined 20" HBAR threaded barrel (old gun takeoff, but $200 or less)
4 rail freefloat tube (used, $45)
harris tilt bipod (used, $35)
bipod adapter ($15)
Yankee Hill Machine folding sight gas block ($78)
rail covers ($16)
DPMS charging handle ($12)
Smith Enterprises Vortex flash hider (old, unknown $)
Colt Bolt and Carrier, NOS ($150)
MAtech mil issue BUIS (back up iron sight) ($85 used)
ARMS scope riser (unknown $)
DPMS teflon finished flattop (used, $50)
BEC scope, 3x9 illuminated, range drop turret, (cheap, $70, this will get replaced when my redfield gets back from repair)

screwed it together myself.
might replace the buttstock with an adjustable Magpul MSS, so if i do, add $250:-)
Used a teflon finish upper for easier cleanup, i plan on using this gun with my suppressor alot, makes blowback cleanup a little easier.
should be accurate, if previous experience with the Colt Hbars barrels i've used.

Nice. Good looking gun.

Aside from springs and such, the only things that really wear out (without breaking) are barrels, I wouldn't expect any problems with the veteran parts.

If you're serious about the adjustable stock, check out the Vltors. It's a personal preference thing, but I prefer the Clubfoot over any of the Magpul stocks, the Crane/LMT SOPMOD, or the "CAR" style stocks.

Whose bipod mount are you using? I've been looking for one, but haven't been able to put my hands on one yet.

DPB: this is almost the 90th AR I built...I'm not at all worrried about "veteran parts"...I can about build these things with my eyes closed these days, including barreling the uppers.

the one i built before this is another DPMS, and i used the original barrel and bolt from my Colt m16....that was made in 1971.
shoots great.

the barrel was mine from an old SporterII Colt I had that i put a old skinny barrel on.

as for the stock, I dont like the Vltor stuff, it has a very cheap feel to me, and it looks kinda cruddy in my opinion also.
I'm happy with the magpul stuff, i have 2 of the M93 collapsing stocks on guns now...I sold a Magpul MSS on a gun last year, that was a sweet stock.

the bipod mount I got is a first samco, it fully supports the front, side, and rear of the harris bipod so it doesn't mess up anything on the gun itself

yeah you have a very slick collection jaybell, most impressive, i kinda like the way that ar looks with a solid stock, it goes better with that heavy scope you got on it. You just a collector or do you sell some stuff as well?
