    Default My Christmas Addition

Here is my gift from Stephanie and the boy. It finally came in on Christmas Eve. Had to pick it up today.

H&R 925 .38S&W(.38 Short) 2.5" barrel. Made in 1967. It appears to have never been fired. The dust in the bore is that - box dust. Came with original box.

Sorry about the crappy pictures. My rechargeable batteries in my digicam will only hold enough charge for 1 picture before needing to recharge.

Wow, that's a very neat little piece. Any history on it?

Congrats. I have the same one. Mine is marked H&R Gardner Mass U.S. Also the piece behind your trigger sticks out further then mine. Mine is a AM1046** serial number. Don't know much about mine other then it belonged to my fathers mother. He bought it for her because of where she chose to live. She lived in Germantown Philadlphia. It's so weird to see this today. When I was a kid my grandmother use to come stay with us for a week during Christmas. One year during said visit her house was totally ransacked. She had bars on all the doors and windows. But they just decided to rip the shed off the back of her house with a truck to gain access. Just about everything of value was stolen. This gun was kept in a drawer of towels which they started to empty but stopped about two towels from finding the gun. The only other thing of value that they didn't get was a few hundred dollars stashed in a bible. I don't beleive they are all that valuable but mine means a lot to me. Thanks for sharing it brought back some memories for me.

Sorry I can't rep you before spreading some around. but thank you so much for sharing. It is very much appreciated. Take care and Happy Holidays.

All we were told by the selling FFL is that it was a one-owner gun prior. I had a local FFL get it for me on GunBroker from the selling FFL in Texas. He had taken it in on trade. The original owner was from Texas.

It's missing the original paperwork. And the box is only chewed up right by the action release.

    Yours was made in 1974.

Typically they go for $100 to $275, depending on condition and how bad the bidding wars get. My FFL got this for about $275, we paid $325 even(gun, shipping, taxes, transfer, and profit included) to our dealer(was my gift from the Mrs. and boy). We told our local dealer we'd go as high as $400 to make sure we got the one pictured incase it became a bidding war.

That's a beauty. I have several H&R's , love them! I grew up about 30 miles west of H&R's original factory, and a 922 was the first gun my Dad and I use to shoot together. I've been looking for that model, just haven't been able to find one in nice enough condition for what I want to pay Congrats and enjoy!

Thanks for the info. Whats the piece behing the trigger? Mine stays back tucked into the frame? It seems to work and be timed ok. I did have it lock up or something last time i fired it but thought it was from needing to be cleaned. Could it have anything to do with that piece behind the trigger? Thanks again.

That is the sear. It engages the notch on the hammer when firing in single action mode. The trigger pushes back on it, which disengages the sear from the hammer.
