Default Pic Request - Wall Mounted Handgun Storage

With 42K+ members here there must be a wide array of storage methods for your handguns.

What I'm looking for are pictures of wall mounted arrangements for multiple handguns varying in sizes of itty-bitty derringers to behemoths. I'm building a closet into a "gun safe" here in my man-cave/office - so I need some ideas. I'm going to make vertical racks for the long guns someday soon then retrieve the rest of those from the farm. But between the top of the long guns and the bottom of the ammo shelf I want to make something for the handguns.

I thought about using a pegboard, but I have a number of derringers that lack trigger guards to help retain the guns to the wall. I would like the handguns to be positioned similarly for visual effects.

Here below is what I have to work with.. Ignore the bowed shelf above, I plan to rebuild that will two stronger tiers. There is about 2ft +/- above the tallest long gun to the bottom of the ammo shelf to work with.

Suggestions please!

Not sure what you mean about positioning them "similarly", but what about dowel rods like some dealers use to display handguns at gun shows? (dowel rod into barrel)

That way they would be almost "handed to you" if you needed one and it would save wall space because the area they would "protrude" into would have just been wasted space if they were all against the wall on their sides.

Hope that made some sense.

I'll look and see if I can find pics, but I believe a guy on another forum used peg board to store handguns as well as rifles on a wall.

OK, I found him. here's one of his pics, I thought there others but I didn't see any more in a quick search

That's what I was going to recommend, but with one suggestion. Get some Tool Dip and coat all the ends of the hooks do there's no chance of them marring the finish of the firearms.

They also make little clips to help hold the hooks into the pegboard. I love pegboard for stuff like this, I have a sheet of it in my pantry for holding extra kitchen tools.

Good point; if going this route and the hooks are not pre-coated with soft plastic or rubber, plastidip or somethings similar would be good insurance for your firearms.

I have several SB shotguns that are hanging in various places across the house and I used these little rubber holders for broomsticks that clamp themselves downwards.

Make sure to glue some protective material on the bare side of the clamp so it does not scratch or damage the barrel. They probably work fine for other rifles as well.
Could not find a picture of the double ones that have a rubber clamp on both sides but I do know that Lowes and Homedepot carry them.
