Default My Three Carbines

I recently picked up a CMP Rock-ola and have been swapping/trading parts to bring it back to semi-original configuration. It goes with my CMP Inland and the nearly original National Postal Meter I bought from a dealer last February.

From top to bottom: CMP Inland, National Postal Meter, and CMP Rock-ola.

Nice collection, I recently acquired my first M-1 carbine from CMP south.

Sweet! My Rock-ola came from the North Store - got the Inland in the Great CMP Mail Rush.

those rock-ola's are too cool.
its on my list of things I'd like for the collection (which is what I will call it when I am old and gray).

how much should I try to save up for one of them ?

Cost will depend on the condition and degree of "correctness." Rock-ola made only about 230,000 of the total 7+ million carbines made. CMP has about 1200 to sell from the ones returned by Italy last year. They are all mixmasters. Price for a service grade was $675 and they sold out in a day.

Prices at shows are going up but you can still find some good deals. $600 to $800 is still possible. Gun Broker is another source but you'll ay a bit more.

Like anything collectible - the longer you wait, the more it will cost. Carbines were relatively cheap ten years ago. Over the last year they have become increasingly popular - to some degree because of the decrease in Garands available - and the prices have gone up, too.
