I used to go up the guanella pass road in Georgetown, then turn after a few miles to the waldorf road (the old Argentine Pass railroad grade), and drive up to either Waldorf or one of the turn-offs. It was pretty easy from Denver (we lived near I-70). I'd keep a rifle or two and some rounds hidden in the back of the truck and after hikes would put holes in paper on the way back.
Man, I miss it. I guess it's cool being back East with family as we just had a little baby boy, but I sure miss the pace of Colorado. And skiing. D@mnit.
