Default Anvil Arms Custom PAFOA Receivers

Greetings Guys,

============================================
PICTURES

=============================================

Jon Kruger, President of Anvil Arms here. I hope this finds you all in good spirits and good health.

First let me thank you for your interest in our products. We strive to offer only the finest quality parts and weapons combined with the best possible service at a good price.

I have been contacted by 3 or 4 people from this list about doing a special run or group buy. I have also been asked about the quality of our receivers and special pricing for various types of group buys and so forth.

To save everybody some time and confusion, I’ll be as brief and to the point as I can.

First, yes, we can (and will be happy to) laser engrave the PAFOA logo on receivers. All I need is the file in the correct format. I believe that is already being worked on.

I would note the following about the design. I saw in the main thread the design with the ribbon under the circular logo. Keep in mind that there is not a lot of real estate on the side of a magazine well to mess with. The bottom of the mag well slants up on the right side. Putting that ribbon under the logo will force the logo to be very small since the ribbon will have to clear the slant on the right. Placing the ribbon above the logo will allow for a larger logo but it will still be somewhat on the small side. Remember, I have seen hundreds of logos and assorted images on lowers in this area. It is my personal feeling that just the logo without the ribbon would give the best looking product, my second choice would be ribbon above. However, this is your organization and your logo, I will be more than happy to do it whatever way you guys decide on.

In case anyone is thinking about a logo of their own, (not club related) we would be glad to do that as well. For full details about the requirements for a file submitted by a client please see this page: www.AnvilArms.com/Laser That will give you ALL the details. Engraving is no charge on any lower receiver bearing our roll mark. We have about 35-40,000 different image files. If a client supplies a suitable file for use we are happy to use it, of course, no charge to do so.

As soon as I get the PAFOA graphic image file I will make a sample, take pictures and post it for you guys. I will leave it up to you guys to decide how long to leave ordering open, it has been suggested 2 weeks but with Christmas coming up only a week after that I would suggest maybe waiting until something like Jan 10, 08. that will give everybody a chance to get at least 1 paycheck after the holidays and would likely open the door to many more of your people being able to buy one. But I will leave that completely up to you guys. All receivers ordered in the specified time frame will have consecutive numbers, anybody ordering more than one will have all consecutive numbers. Any orders after the specified time will certainly be gladly processed but will obviously not be consecutive with the rest of the group. If you guys want, ON ALL RECEIVERS in the first group we can laser engrave 2008 Limited Edition – 1 of 50 (or however many are in the first group) everybody ordering after that would not get the “LE” markings. Again, that is totally up to you guys. That engraving would be placed on the right side of the receiver just above the trigger pin.

As to the question of quality. One of your members has already ordered a receiver and should be taking delivery of it in the next few days. I am sure he will be able to verify the following; Our lower (and upper) receivers are 100% the equal in quality of fit and finish of any Colt, Bushmaster, DPMS and Rock River (the 4 largest and most well known AR manufacturers today). As noted n our website, (http://www.anvilarms.com/pc-36-19-st...-receiver.aspx ) They are forged, and other than the hole for the auto sear and some minor internal dimensions in the area of the auto sear these lower receivers meet the newest Mil-Spec requirements 100%. They are 100% compatible and ready for a registered drop in auto sear. Further we offer a lifetime warranty for defects and a 100% guarantee for fit and finish. This means if as long as your parts meet Mil-spec dimensions and tolerances they will fit perfectly in our lower receiver and cosmetically it will be correct as well. Compare our quality (100% equal) and our pricing with the companies listed above and you will have to agree that at the current price of $100 our receivers are a huge value for the money.

As for special pricing; For those of you not familiar with the requirements of transferring registered items from manufacturer to dealer I will just say that the paperwork is not slight and must be done perfectly. When we sell registered parts to a dealer (for resale) and all units are shipped to a single address and paid for all at once, we do give dealer discounts/pricing. When units are sold directly to, and paid for by, the end user and they are going to multiple different dealers for final transfer we do not offer discounts due to the amount of time that the paperwork consumes.

I believe somebody had asked about special markings on for the “SAFE”, “FIRE” wordings. Technically this is possible. However, logistically it is troublesome. Additionally, from a liability standpoint I prefer to leave the marking as per the industry standard. Lastly, the standard markings (IMHO) just look far more professional which lends credibility to you and your organization.

If anybody would like one (or more) of these registered as pistol receivers we can do that for $10. All pistol lowers are laser engraved “REGISTERED PISTOL” on the right side of the receiver just above the trigger pin.

Now, onto the particulars of how we need you guys to go about ordering these units. Obviously these are registered firearm parts and must be transferred from me to a licensed Firearms Dealer and then properly transferred by them to you. In order to make this process as smooth as possible for all parties if you can please follow the below instructions it would be of great benefit.

Note: Shipping is always insured from us to your dealer and it priced as follows: 1 receiver $9.50. For each additional receiver is $3.00.

Your dealer will need the following form to use as a cover sheet for the fax/email they will send us with their license. www.AnvilArms.com/FFL. Your options for using this form are:
• Print it out and fill in the sections you know the answers to then hand carry it to your dealer to finish and send. (Please don’t fax it. They will be faxing it to me and 2nd generation faxes are often not very good and very hard to read.)
• Email the dealer the link or call them on the phone and give them the link address. Have them print it out and be sure you give them your information so they can put it on the form.

Once your dealer has the information/form and has stated he will comply please send us an email with the following information:
• Your name
• “I am ordering (how many) PAFOA lower receivers”
• If any of your lowers are to be registered/marked “PISTOL” please indicate that.
• Best phone #
• Name of FFL SHOP. (The shop name, not the individuals name)
• FFL Contact person’s name
• FFL Phone #.

Once we get:
• The Fax cover sheet
• FFL
• Your information email

We will then call you for your credit card info and create your official order and invoice. It is somewhat of a pain to call like that, but it is the #1 safest way for us to handle your sensitive CC# info.

Lower parts kits are available for $55 and while we do not release the names of the manufacturers that make the various parts you can rest assured that are top quality!

6POS stock in black, tan or OD green is $65 with a standard buffer and $75 with an “H” buffer. Again, all parts are American made to the highest quality standards, you will be pleased with the quality.

Upper receivers are available. Stripped, without M4 feed ramps, $100. With M4 feed ramps $110. Complete with door and forward assist add $20.

And yes, full complete guns are also available. Our base guns start at $957 but are on sale for $825. With a front flip sight and 4 rail free float hand guard they are currently $1,000.

If you have ANY questions please use my direct email: Jon@AnvilArms.com

Thanks!

You bet it is possible!
  • A lower with LPK installed is $175.
  • With LPK and 6 position stock (100% American made, high quality, great stock/tube fit) installed in Black, Tan or OD Green includes a color matched A2 pistol grip installed is $250
  • For a color matched Hogue or Ergo grip add $20.

There has been a lot of conversation about the building of the lowers/gun and so forth. I just thought I would pass onto you guys that we offer a class in how to build, maintain, alter and generally own an AR. If you guys really wanted I could come up there if you paid for the course. I’ll pay for the flight, hotel, ground transportation and my own food. You provide the suitable place for the class. It is not inexpensive but then again, it is pretty reasonable considering the expenses to be paid.

The class is 8 hours long. Tools provided. You bring your guns/gun parts. Or order them in advance from us and we bring them. $1,500 Limit of 20 Students.

$1,500 divided by 20 people is only $75 each for an 8 hour factory certified class in AR building. You receive a nice certificate and even get a free Anvil Arms T-shirt with the PAFOA logo on the right sleeve.

While I am there, if you have suitable shooting range facilities, I could stay an additional day and give you the basic 1 day carbine operators tactical course. The charge for that would be $175 per student. Minimum of 7 students (or $1,225), maximum of 12.

Just regular serial numbers, all starting with "AA". Right now we are in the AA001800 to AA002000" range. Once we get to the final date I'll count how many orders we have and go pull that many in a row and start lasering and packing them. Should take a couple days integrating that with all the other work we have.

don't forget, we have really nice LPKs available for $55 and some other stiff as listed in the first post...

Have a good weekend, I am off to an out of town gun show for the weekend.

Thanks again for working so hard to get this setup!

More product = more insurance to pay for. A larger box means higher size charges UPS charges commercial accounts on weight and size combined. We almost never break even on shipping as it is... Meaning we are already (usually) paying part of your shipping. So no, shipping charges are fixed.

Rules of Engagement

OK, I have just heard from Dan and his decision is:

All receivers will have the PAFOA logo as supplied by him and as will be shown in the sample later Tuesday.

There will be no “Limited Edition” markings. There will be no personalization marking, logos, or sayings on these.

I have to say I agree this will make for a very clean professional looking receiver.

After discussion with Dan, I have decided to hold and collect orders until 1/17/08 and begin processing them on the 18th. This will do 2 things, #1 it will fit into the current Anvil Arms production schedule #2 it will allow for most of you guys to get orders in so that I can give you consecutive serial numbers. Anyone ordering more than one PAFOA receiver at this time will get consecutive numbers.

After 1/17/08 your still free to order anytime but it will not be consecutive with the rest of the group.

As always, any multiple orders placed at the same time "should" be consecutive. To place orders please see the instructions on my first post on this thread.

Please get your orders in ASAP to help me keep from getting overloaded right at the end. As I get your orders I will be calling for your billing info. You will NOT be billed until 1/18/08 when we start processing and lasering the units.

SPECIAL ORDERING INSTRUCTIONS:
Send me an email to my direct email: Jon@AnvilArms.com
In the email I need the following information (Copy and paste this)
In the subject line: PAFOA ORDER
In the email:
Your full (real) name:
Your PAFOA screen name:
Your best contact phone #:
The business name of the FFL you plan to use:
The contact name at the FFL business:
Phone number of the FFL business:
The number of PAFOA receivers you want to order:
----------
The number of NON PAFOA receivers you want to order:
On the NON PAFOA receiver(s) what you want lasered - use a separate line for each one if ordering more than one:

ALSO: Be sure your FFL is given the link for the cover page so he can properly send his license to me: www.AnvilArms.com/FFL

THANKS!!!

Jon K.

12/22/07 CORRECTED ERROR IN DATE… for some reason I had typed (and did not catch) that the date for ordering was 12/17. It SHOULD HAVE BEEN 1/17 as in 1/17/08. I have corrected this mistake. I apologize for any confusion!!

We will begin calling those of you that have ordered and getting billing information on or about the time of the deadline. (We really do not want to be responsible for storing your sensitive credit card info for longer than necessary!)

Just FYI as of this date (12/22/07) we have about 8-10 receivers ordered.

Thanks!! Sorry for the confusion caused by the posting of the incorrect dates!!

Note to Emptymag: I did respond with a link to the picture that D-Fens has posted. Is that not adequate? (Keep in mind that I build quality firearms, I’m not a professional graphic designer).

Jon K.

================================================== ============
================================================== ============

Only 1 day and a few hours left for the deadline. We will start calling people that have ordered on Thursday to get your billing info.

We are pretty busy right now so it may take a couple days to work through the entire list. Once we are done we will announce that everybody has been contacted.

Once that announcement has been made if you ordered but were not contacted you will have 48 hours to let me know in order to get in on the consecutive numbers.

I expect to be done calling no later than Monday afternoon. If we call for your billing info and you don't answer we will leave a message, so be sure to check your phone messages!

(A copy of this post will be added to the bottom of the first page post. The closing announcement will be done both at the end of the thread (like this one) and at the bottom of the first page post.)

Thanks to all!!

Greetings All,

We did get a few calls made Thursday. All day Friday we were setting up for the weekends guns show and of course all weekend we were at the show. Monday (Today) we are closed taking our one day a week off and Tuesday we will be back at making more calls. (We were going to come in and make some calls Monday anyway but Sunday night turned out to be a very long night/morning and we did not get done until about 3am so we took the normal day off)

As noted, once everybody has been contacted we will make an announcement.

If you like, you can fax or email us your billing info, that would be fine. For credit card billing we will need the following info, (you can copy/paste this):

The type of card (Visa, M/C, Discover, Amex):
Card #:
Expiration Date:
Security code (3 numbers on the back, far right, for Amex 4 numbers on the front above the card #):
Billing address including zip code:
Your best contact phone number:

We will also need to know EXACTLY what it is your ordering and how many.

If you FAX BE SURE TO INCLUDE:
NAME (REAL) AND EMAIL ADDRESS So we can confirm receipt of your fax.

Thanks,

Jon K.

(I'll also post this at the end of the current "last page".)

Thanks for posting Jon! I believe the group has settled on just the round PAFOA logo. Not sure about the L.E. making though...it might make logistics complicated.

I'm glad to hear about open ordering because I will be broke until after Christmas, but I would like to get consecutive numbers with the other group members!

I am looking forward to seeing the actual photos of the sample! Thanks again!

Jon,

First off that was fantastic!

As far as the ordering window, january seems about perfect. This time of year always finds ways to eat into the savings.

I have no problem with the "limited edition" but let's see what the opinion is before we decide. That part doesn't really matter to me.

The design will be logo only, nothing above or below. The photoshop on the other thread is (in theory) what it will look like.

My one true question is on shipping. In the pittsburgh area, the majority of the lowers are being shipped to the same FFL. Would it be possible to send them all at the same time? Or at least combine several orders into the same box? It just makes more sense all around and it would save on shipping charges.

Once again, thank you!

Brian

Will the logo be a simple engraving or with white lettering as shown in the other thread? I prefer the former.

If I read Jon's site correctly, the laser is actually bleaching the anodizing on the lower and not actually cutting into the metal...It is still permanent and will not rub off.

For lack of a better technical explanation (that I really don't understand myself) Rocketfoot is basically correct in the way the finish product looks. Here is a link to our pictures page on ARFCOM, there you will find several photos of completed work. That will give you a good idea of what to expect.
