Current religion: __I do have faith in GOD____

Previous religion (if any) __None___

Any other thoughts or beliefs:

I cannot follow a church, too much corruption.
If I cant protect myself with my gun , I will use the bible
I think both should be carried and used if need be

Random Task, while there is nothing severe about your post I will have to ask that we keep the negative comments about religion out of this thread. Nothing personal, but I am finally getting some interesting information and I think we have done a great job keeping it civil here and I don't want this to get out of hand.

As I have said I have no problem debating different beliefs, in fact I quite enjoy it. this, however is not the proper thread for that sort of discussion.

Once again thank everyone for the cooperation. Please keep the responses coming.

Joe - just curious about the percentage of folks submitting 'anonymous' data as opposed to posting it in the thread. Is there a trend one way or the other?

gnbrotz~

So far the large majority has been posted in this thread. To be honest, I expected more unanimous replies and the lack caused me to remove the email option. It's redundant and everything can be done through PM.

It is also more difficult than expected to classify some of the responses as many people do not have a home congregation or no longer practice but still identify with a certain sect.

I was baptized Missouri Synod Lutheran, went to every church in Mustang, OK. After moving to VA, went to Church of God with our neighbor for a yr (she thought kids should go to church). While in school in MS went to First Presbiterian for a yr with the Ecumenical director. Married in a United Church of Christ church and haven't been in one since. So what that makes me, I have no clue.

Political: That's easy, I'm independent..I vote for who I think will do the best job at the time.

Mode of Burial: No clue, in a way I want to be cremated, in a way burried. As for my body, I'd like most to go to people that needs whatever, heart, kidneys, whatever. I just don't want any docs speeding me along to get the parts.

How I go: I don't care, just as long as it's not by drowning.

Philosophy: Life sucks, get used to it. (And one of my dads favorite sayings: It's better to be pissed off than pissed on.)

I was baptized United Church of Christ, my family never attended growing up. I attended while in boot camp though! Attended Evangelical Luthern services with an Ex (too ritualized for me). I did get married at the church I was baptized in. (St Paul's UCC in Imler PA) Now, I guess I'm Christian but non denominational ... I don't trust organized religion very much as it seems too political and often corrupt.

Politcal: register Republican although I'll vote for whomever will do the best job.

Mode of burial and how I go ... no clue, I'd just prefer to delay that as long as possible!

Philosophy: Life sucks, wear a helmet!

currrent religion: none-I don't believe in any gods
previous religion: Presbitarian-only up to the 3rd grade when I discussed my opinions with my parents, we quit going to church-don't know if that counts as a previous religion as it was put on me and when I decieded not to do it we quit, otherwise I'd say none. My parents apparently didn't believe in it much.

personal beliefs: similar to what LRT said. But adding I'm for gay marrages. I've been to a couple gay ceriomonies and were better than the more common ones. I'm also a democrat, I vote with my wallet-if you know what that means.

JS,

Good thread. I am surprised at the number of non-religious folks here. Looks like that's another stereotype that the anti's have gotten wrong!
