Suspicious Package

This was reported yesterday. Several downtown streets were closed during the detonation. No report has been given as to the contents of the package. Was it dangerous? What makes it suspicious? Or was this simply a case of someone stopping to make a phone call and absentmindedly forgetting a package? If so, the paranoia level is reaching an all time high.

The drive by droned the same report all day long, never updated it. It seems at some point during the day someone would have know something more about this "package'. I hate the news, I usually listen to music on cable, but when I'm listening to talk shows, I'm forced to listen to their stupid reports.

I can't seem to find the article I was reading yesterday but apparently at about 6:20 AM someone set a package on a pay phone with wires hanging out of it and called 911 to report the bomb. From my understanding, it was intentional. (IIRC, this was according to witness reports).

Apparently there's been a number of these things happening. IIRC, the PG reported this is the 3rd in recent weeks. Wood St. from Fifth to Forbes was blocked off from ~6:30 AM to ~8:30AM.

Anyone who walks through Downtown regularly knows how many balls-to-the-wall-insane people we have. Granted, every city does but Downtown PGH is extremely small compared to most cities and I think we've got plenty of crazy mo-fo's for thick coverage. I've had several encounters with just plain nutty people. There's the Macy's lady that jumps from behind corners and screams at anyone smoking a cigarette. Then the bus lady who screams at buses that aren't hers (tried to hit me for getting on one, another story though).

I wouldn't be at all surprised if this was just another insane asshat that found a box and a power supply and legitimately thought it was a bomb when placed inside of the box.

//TV news websites are always garbage. They develop a spooky and mysterious write-up and when they find out it's not at all spooky or mysterious, why update it? What good will that do in trying to lure their 6:00 audience to watch their 10:00 broadcast?

I hate cities too. This is one reason I live in the boonies. Only thing that gets blowed up around here is a mailbox once in a while when some of the local hoodlums get bored.

I mean what do you expect from a town called BEAVERDALE.

Terrorists can do damage much easier. Place box on booth. Call cops. Repeat three times a day, at a busy intersection, preferably once at rush hour.
