That's just it. Terrorism, at it's base level does not have to be violent every time to be effective.

I hope I don't find TV parts on the range next time I'm there....

I had an experience with a suspicious package once. Christmas Eve a year or two ago I got a call from a police department about a suspicious package I sent. A guy ordered one of our M1A2 grenade adapters with tennis ball for his dad. Had it shipped directly to him, but didn't tell him it was coming. The Dad started to open the package (I shipped it in a cardboard tube), saw the tennis ball stuffed in the prongs and assumed it was some sort of spring loaded trigger mechanism. I think the guy was in law enforcement, so perhaps he'd seen something like this before. He called the police/bomb squad or whoever, they came down and x-rayed it. After they determined it was inert, it was no problem.

When they called me, I thought for sure they were going to try to charge me with something but they were pretty cool about it. First they wanted to know who had it sent to him, and second they wanted to know more about my products!

I like to think the scene was something out of Alice's Restaurant, "there was five police officers and three police cars, being the biggest crime of the last fifty years, and everybody wanted to get in the newspaper story about it. And they was using up all kinds of cop equipment that they had hanging around the police officer's station."
