Default Blackhawk serpa holster

Well i just got it off the internet for $32.00. Decent price compared to gander mountains $50. It's a great looking holster and really supports the glock well. I'll post pics a little later tonight. My only concern is: those of you who have it or know alot about it any problem with scratching the gun? I just pulled it out of the holster and it's got a mild scratch on it. I'm not too thrilled with the outcome especially since it's a brand new handgun. Any suggestions? Or should i throw in a few felt pads etc.? Thanks

I've had my pistol in and out of my Serpa hundreds of times and haven't noticed anything. Perhaps there was a piece of dirt that somehow came between the two and caused the scratch? Don't see how the holster material could cause that.

Where's the scratch at?

It's on the slide. Tough call as far as dirt goes. I just got done cleaning the glock and the holster was fresh out of the box. I'll see how it goes over the next few days i guess. I did find it odd how it was scratched. I mean it's not anything severe but it's enough to get me upset. Just like a new car in a way lol. First scratch is always a bi***.

I guess now i can classify it as "broken in"

I just picked on up for my XD45. I've had it in and out quite a few times, I don't have any scratches on my XD. Perhaps the Glock finish is softer than the XD finish. OK, OK, I was just kidding. As far as I know they are both using similar processes to finish their pistols. I got to pratice more. I'm not real chummy with that catch on the Serpa. If it gets to be too much of a problem the darn thing will go away.

i pd WAY too much for one at gm, i know it was cheaper over the net, but i wanted it NOW.

i like it alot and have never NOTICED any scratches from it, but i usualy dont baby my guns. i find if im super careful not to scratch anything, its always that much more of a bitch when you eventualy do

no noticable wear so far other than what can be expected from any holster.

Chunky Monkey- I got it off of ebay....can't go wrong there. It was also $5.00 shipping. This is the sellers page. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZbuddy1040

Deth- Ya i know what you mean as far as gander goes...i was like "damn i just got my ltcf"..the holster i have now just plain sucks but $50 is a lot for a holster" So i had to suffer a good week but i finally got it. I love how it keeps the gun nice and secure. The other holster i had was just cheesy.

The only downfall of it is that i can only use it with a belt. I do a lot of sports so i'm constanly in warm ups, sweat pants etc. So that will pose a problem but i guess i'll have to improvise a little. No problem there though!

I've never noticed any scratches on the 45 from my Blackhawk Serpa holster. Like others said maybe there was a piece of dirt or some other foreign object in there.

here's what you need to do:

1) Take your carry gun
2) throw it into a gravel pit
3) run it over with a truck a few times
4) stop bitching about holster wear.

If you want to keep a gun in pristine condition, leave it in the safe. Work guns get scratches.
