State Arms rifles by East Ridge are super accurate and priced right.

The Rebel tactical model is around $2300 shipped to your FFL, and they plain shoot!

For a semi, I would go with Barrett. But if you would consider a single shot bolt, I would look into the Rebel by State Arms.

I've got a Barrett M82A1.

Knowing then what I know now, I wouldn't have bought it. The ammunition has become ruinously expensive to shoot. When I bought the rifle, I could get ammo for 1.10-1.20 each. Now, 4 dollars for the exact same thing, match ammo can be 8 per shot.

I don't know your land situation, but every gun range with the exception of a handful in all of Pennsylvania fall into one of the following categories:

1. No BMG rifles
2. No caliber limits to firearms, but the range is only 100 or 200 yards.

The nearest range I can go to in order to really unload is Mifflin County. It is 3 hours from my house.

Even the September shoot that is coming up--the range allows BMG rifles, but is only 300 yards.

The upside--it is really cool to whip it out, but you better be willing to talk to a lot of people at the range.

The weird thing is--I could use the money, but there is a part of me doesn't want to sell it--at least not in the near future.

I thought I always wanted a .50 bmg myself, but I now don't think their worth it either. The ammo's cost is just completely stupid, and the accuracy appears to be somewhat sub-standard from them. Match ammo gets 1.5moa, and to me for the cost of every that sucks badly. I'd rather get a winter warfare L96 Sniper if it's possible, because I herd it with a trained sniper can easily hit man sized targets at 1000 meters due to it's sub-moa standards.

At one point I had nine 50 bmg rifles, but I sold five when I wanted to buy NFA toys. Here are my thoughts on all nine.

Still have:
Barrett 82a1- awesome plinker!
Heavy bench gun built on Mcbros ss action-great shooter plus nothing bad about Mcbros stuff!
McBros receiver to be built into a tac 50. Nuff said!
TNW M2-HB- Greta for shreading junk cars!

Sold list:
AMAC 5100- Real nice shooter. The last 50 that I sold and I will probably pick one up again when I have some $$.
Serbu bfg 50- Real nice and portable, second to last one that I sold.
Barrett M90- Nice, but short and harder to keep still. Plus lots of blast in face!
Armalite AR50- Nice, but basically a heavy bench gun.
LAR Grizzly- First to go because I could not wait to get rid of it! Nothing nice to say!
