Sadly I don't know, but I'll be very interested to know when you figure it out.

My guess is that Philadelphia isn't paying overtime and hiring more people to make sure you get it back as quickly as possible. They drag their feet on everything.

Still have not received notice from the Gun Permit unit that I may pick up my permit.

The reinstatement notice is not sufficent in the "Commonwealth of Philadlephia" !!!

You apparentlyl must receive notice that you may pick up your permit.

During the normal application PA law is 45 days to issue or deny.

Does any one know if their is a time fram from when you are reinstated after appeal.

I am giving them until end of Thursday or the City can tell the Judge why my right has not been restored!

Greg

I would assume, if it was me, but I am not an attorney, that the judges orders would be sufficent to prove your ability to carry if you in fact carry them on you until Philladelphia gets you your permit .

Philadelphia is now stating that my background check must be re conducted to assure that no arests or convictions have occured since my permit privaledges were restored (5 days ago !)

These beurocrats are ridiculous!

Is this legal for them to insist my background be redone!

I would imagine that what they are doing is legal. But a check only take a minute or two. Shouldn't take more than 30.

That's BS.. The judge ordered it for that day, not 5 days later... They don't need to do a background check after a judge orders something, he trumps them, every time, unless they appeal his ruling..

IOW, it's just a petty reprisal.

This information is incorrect. I have taken battle with the PSP on this matter through my State Rep and DanP has a scanned copy of a letter from the PSP and my State Rep clarifying that any non resident permit held by a Pennsylvania resident that is is reciprocity with the PA AG is indeed valid. Dan you may post a link of this letter here if you would be so kind as to remove my personal information. I feel this letter would be a good thing for member to keep in their glove box is deciding to carry on a non-resident permit.

Brethren:

Just to update all of you. Still NO permit issued.

We are heading back to Court this week for the city to explain to the Judge why they have not issued my permit to me that has been reinstated.

Regards,

Greg

Judge probably won't be to happy about that, they don't take kindly to their orders not being followed and having to take more time out for their screw up...

best of luck, let us know what happens
