Default Sig P229 Elite

I always liked Sig's but with all the new guns out lately I have been buying XD's. Glocks. Kel-tecs. taurus. This year for my birthday I decided to treat myself to something special so I went to Ace sporting goods and bought a Sigp229Elite in 40 S&W. It is put out by Sigs custom gun shops. I already own a 225.226.239' and a Sig Pro 2340 so I am used to the quality of the Sigs but I am really impressed with the difference of this gun. It is like the difference between a Porsche and a Ford. It takes a lot for a gun to impress me but this thing is just about perfect. I took 300 rounds with me to the range, shot them all, then came home to get 400 more rounds and shot them all and I am going to the range again today.

I thought the Elite's looked great but I thought the beavertail was kind of stupid when I first saw it but after holding the 220R Carry Elite I really liked it.
BTW Where are the pics?

Sorry there are no pictures. I have a digital camera but I don't know how to put them on the computer.

+1 For being a big fan of the custom shop stuff. I bought a 229 equinox not long ago and it is my favorite pistol.

However.... Did you notice that the finish on the frame is Super easy to chip?

Hi Folks-I have a question regarding my P229 Elite. I just purchased my P229 Elite form a local dealer here in AZ. I took it out on the range today and it shot exceptionaly well. But the Rosewood Grips are too thick and If I replace them with Factory grips, I feel the gun would loose some of it's character...Any Suggestions?

Check your hold, more than once I've heard of shooters inadvertently keeping the slide lock from setting by they way they hold with the recoil.

What he said. With me, my thumb was just slightly putting pressure on the slide lock, I adjusted my grip and have not had a single problem. I would try adjusting your grip first and see if that helps.
