You must also print and fill out a Certificate Of Compliance *(Again Your Class 3 Dealer should have these also) or the BATFE will send your form 4 back telling you you did not include a Certificat Of Compliance. Be sure to include this with your Form 4 or you have just added time to your approval time. You Sign this certificate atesting to the fact that all information is ture and correct. Link To PDF Certicicate Of Compliance: http://www.atf.treas.gov/forms/pdfs/f533020.pdf

you can get all real forms straight from the ATF distributiuon center, all in under a week(usually), at no charge, shipped right to your door
hit this link: http://www.atf.gov/dcof/index.htm for the fingerprint cards, since the ATF branch is now running out of West Virginia, the old DCATF100 cards are accepted, but will be more direct if you use the right ones: you want the ones marked : FBI FD-258LE - NFA, Imports ORI WVATF0100 HtH, Jay PS, alamost ALL NFA or ATF forms can be gotten from this link, its an order form.

Hehe, I probably found out how to get the fingerprint forms from the ATF just about when that was posted.
I've got pictures taken, just need to format and print a couple. Didn't know about the Cert. of Compliance, though. I saved a copy and I'll have that ready too. I'll just have for find a CLEO to sign. My neighbor has an M-16, but he's a retired cop, so I'm really not sure if I can get the Chief to sign without a fight. Would anyone happen to know if the Delaware County Sheriff signs form 4s? |

I believe he does. A guy showed up at my range one day with about 6 or 7 various MGs. We got to talking and I'm almost positive he said he lived in DelCo and had no problem with a signature.

This thread should be retitled to NFA Q&A! Its a great transcript of a typical conversation with a prospective NFA owner

If he doesn't sign just start a LLC. $125 one time fee and maybe $100 for a lawyer to draft it up if you cant figure it out yourself. My Cleo will sign (he signed my first) however, since then, i started my LLC and i like that i dont have to go asking for signatures, getting fingerprinted and photographed. All that seems like a big waste of time to me now.

There is no tax consequence that I or my CPA know of. I pay him $100/year to fill out all the proper forms with 0's (since the LLC has no income) and get them in on time. It's worth it for peace of mind.
