Since i do have my own sense of values, priorities and political concerns, I vote how I like and not how I'm told to vote contrary to the union bashers concept of how unions actually work.

I would like to know why many Pafoa members continually make a big deal about how the media is inaccurate or somehow biased in their reporting of gun related issues, how they misrepresent the facts etc etc. and yet this article is apparently taken as completely accurate.

I can't continue for now but I may be back tomorrow for some additional thug related commentary.

Union leadership has less morals than the Wall Street types who're so busy right now sucking as much money as possible from the system, and are WORSE than those they pretend to protect the rank and file from. The shame of the matter is that unions do play a beneficial role in workplace dynamics, but the system has become so infected with greed that they've turned into a cancer.

But here's a question for those who would flame Paradigm...If government has the best interests of the people at heart (like the healthcare reforms that your union bosses are lockstep behind) then why do government employees need unions to protect them from said government?

SEIU has quickly become a suckling on the liberal tit and have lost any dignity they ever did have. I the men that started unions in america could see what they have become they would rool over in their grave. Most employees in Unions are hardworking honest Americans, but the leadership seems more focused on making political points than looking out for the workers.

I would say it has something to do with what the SEIU boss was quoted as saying in the article...not what the reporter was making up to pad his word count

It's a shame really. The unions once were a very needed thing. Still are to some point, like keeping the bar at a certain level so we all don't wind up with minimum wage. I will agree that there are a lot of honest, hard working, non thug people in these unions. The problem is the leadership, and their greed for money and power has caused them to prostitute themselves to the politicians.

I was a Teamster for 17 years once upon a time. I left the union in 1999, and don't really miss it. Even before then they had stopped being in the business of taking care of their members, and switched to being in the business of keeping themselves in business. That is where most of them seem to stand now.

"There's to be no volunteers".............What the Christ?!?!?!?!?! I understand some of his guys were laid off, and the Scout was doing work they would've been paid for IF THEY HAD DONE IT. Which they obviously hadn't, since it was overgrown. But to say there's to be no volunteers is loony. So, no "Community Clean Up Day" unless the SEIU is involved? No offering to help paint the old church unless you pay dues? So happy my Unions aren't whacky like this.
