15+1 In the chamber plus an extra mag that currently is holding 12. The 15+ are all hornady hollow points while the 12 in the spare mag are remington fmj. I need to get some more ammo so I can shoot what I have and fully load both mags.

17 +1 . I don't carry spares. If I'm in a situation where I wished i had 17 more 9mm, then I'm prolly in a situation where more 9mm is the last thing on my list.

14+1 Para 14-45 +1 spare mag, plus PF9 as a BUG, no spare. The Para is carried in a Maxpedition Versapak Jumbo, PF9 is in an ankle holster.

the search function on this forum isn't the greatest thing since sliced bread either. and, frankly, everything there is to discuss about guns, shooting, etc. has already been discussed on some some forum somewhere--most of it on this forum. if people did not ask questions that have already been asked, there wouldn't be much to post about.

also, many people (incorrectly) call magazines clips...and many people here jump all over anyone who does. don't take it personally. however, as pointed out, magazine is the correct term for what you are referring to.

to answer your question, i carry one spare magazine (in a mag pouch on the opposite side from my gun). i carry a glock 17, but download my spare mags by 1, so i have 16 extra rounds. i carry the spare mag more in case of magazine related malfunctions than for the extra rounds, though. but, i'd rather have more rounds than i need than too few anyway.

For many of us who carry semi-autos, carrying extra mags is a remedy for potential magazine failure (the most likely failure for the platform). It's not about round count. Having them in the center console or trunk won't be a bit of help when the mag in your gun fails.

FWIW, I carry one additional mag - on my belt.

Please kind sir, explain to us what you mean by clips? Surely you don't mean the thingies that hold bullets for semi auto pistols do you? Or do you mean the round thingies for revolvers? Also, the point of a forum is to discuss things. If we all only used the search feature, there wouldn't be much more to discuss in this forum except the news and new CC/OC encounters. The search function is good, but give the guy a break.

To the OP, I don't carry any spare magazines on me. I have 9+1 in my carry piece and that's it. I keep a spare 12 round magazine in the car.
