Default pa. question

hi,new to this sight, and i figured i may as well jump in feet first.
i moved here from jersey 2 years ago,i lived in philly for years then moved to jersey for my kids(divorced)(son was having problems)
i had a bit of an encounter with the local police over there at my brothers. i read the sticky and do not want to bore everyone here with details, but i am truly confused,my 20,000.00 lawyer cant give me a straight answer.
i was originally charged with attempted murder of a leo, agg. assault on a leo, felony resisting with violence, felony eluding and a bevy of dmv infractions(dui...etc)
long story short,i was severely beatin by the "local leo's)all over a bogus stop,i did not resist,i did not flee,i did not try to kill a cop as i went to the police academy in philly, and respect cops.
bottom line was the guys i think(and my atty. brother thinks)they were a bit roided up...i could have sued them stupid, but,i understand these particular cops usually work in a pretty bad neighborhood so i give them the benefit of the doubt, they broke my cheekbone and orbital socket, all while i was cuffed.
i was taken to the hospital and then the jail.
i was released ror the next day,but my lawyer told me that they would give me a deal to make it go away..i plead guilty to eluding, pay a 100.00 fine,a year probation and be done with it.i had to sign a waiver or something to not sue.
i had allready paid the lawyer 20,000.00 for something i did not do,and he was telling me not to go to trial cause they would circle the wagons and fuck me out of 5 years of my life..minimum..so i took the "deal"
now i am sfraid to go and buy a gun, cause i dont want to be treated like a crimmanl trying to purchase.
i am not a crimminal, but how can i find out if i am unable to purchase now?i certainly dont want to go to a store and sign a form that says am i crimminal, when i dont know the answer.
is there anyway to find this out?
i wont falsify anything on a gun purchasers form, but i honestly dont no my status.
any help would be appreciated, any where i can find out short of going to a store?

Ok, I can't be sure as my connection is crap right now, but if I read this right, you were charged with Eluding, which is a felony. You then pled down on the eluding charge, and while you were not hit with the maximum, you were found guilty. WHat was the maximum possible sentence for this charge?
....

I have another thought...given all the other charges, there may be hope. You said a bevy of DMV charges. If you were charged and pled to PA VC3733A FLEEING OR ATTEMPTING TO ELUDE A POLICE OFFICER, that is an M2 offense.

Find out from your lawyer what specifically you were found guilty of.

And sorry the police kicked the crap out of you.

Oh, I'm not a lawyer, standard cover my ass disclaimers apply.

WOW is right. Two things

!) For $20,000 my lawyer better be able to answer my question. Find a new lawyer.

2) Your son has problems?

You paid an attorney 20k to plead to something you didn't do?

As for your Q. See here to get some info on if you are prohibited from owning firearms or not:
