Default Doctrine Law

Did PA get the Doctrine Law enacted? I checked out the PA laws and couldn't find up to date articles on it. 2007 is the latest article unless I missed looking someplace.

Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground are often confused. PA already has more or less a form of Castle Doctrine in that you are not required to retreat in your home. I forget about place of business but I think there as well.

What we are pushing for in PA is often referred to as Castle Doctrine but it's more like Stand Your Ground - No duty to retreat anywhere and protection from civil suits.

I'm sure one of the more informed members or lawyers will chime in with a more accurate description. That was just my generic understanding.

Thank you. I know that here in LV it has been put on the back burner a few times, however any articles I've read about self defense issues have gone on the side of the defender with no charges been laid for the self defense act

More gun owners need to spend some time in the PA Law & Politics section

There is LOTS of information about this and other Pro-Gun bills that you can help get enacted.

Castle Doctrine HB 40 in 09 does anyone REALLY want this passed? If so please read

Lots of people only show up after the battle is won and to enjoy the spoils of someone else work...or complain about not having something like this passed.

The same thing happen last session with HB 1845 (act 131) in political section, most seemed not to care or bother to get involved, ONCE it was passed into law there was all kinds of post and thread about how, what it did or not do, how great it was, why it didn't go farther or when it would take effect..... If we could have gotten all that same energy focused into direct action during the political process we could have gotten the so called "castle doctrine" attached to that bill last session. Just wish people could see that fact..that IF you want something you have to get active and tell the Reps you want this passed afterall they work for you, not the other way around.

We IF we all work together towards this common cause, we can get this passed, all we need is for more gun owners to take an active role in the Political process, I know first hand how much some PAFOA people have already done to get us this far. When I can walk in a Rep office that doesn't know me and is familiar with this legislation Its MUCH easier to get them to co sponsor or ask them to support a bill like this.

So IF you want this to become a LAW consider doing your part, to educate yourself, get active and get involved.

Why don't you spend some time in PAFOA PA Law & Politics, its not as much fun as other threads, but its MUCH more important to protect your rights for the future of what we ALL hold so dear.
WHICH IS MORE IMPORTANT?

Thanks. You talked me out of it.

How do you know what I do or do not do? I make phone calls, I fill out the online letters, send emails, and mail my own letters. And I send money. I didn't know I also had to be an expert.

I always said I'd never join a club that would have me as a member. Boy was I right!
