7.62x54r and bipod

i have a couple of unrelated questions

1 has anybody heard anything good or bad about shooters ridge bipods and would the 6-9in height be good for prone on a 700 rem

2 what is the best surplus 7.62x54r ammo to shoot out of a romanian psl and what kind of markings are on the can (no i dont have any 7n1)
