Default Extra Insurance on your toys??

I just wanted to know what other people are doing that have expensive collections of guns. I have them in locked gun safes now but for protection of a hot long burning fire.
I checked with my homeowners insurance today and my basic coverage on foirearms was up to $1000 per gun with a max coverage of $2500.
So i asked how much for a rider to insure the 15-20k worth of guns and they told me the max that they will cover is $5000 and its $12 more a year.
Does anyone know of a company that offers more or is this common for all companies.

Easy , call the NRA . They also offer automatic insurance protection just for being a member. I dont recall the max amount of coverage at the moment but every bit helps , especially when its free coverage as a benefit of membership.

From NRA website:

Quote:
8. ArmsCare Insurance
Receive $1,000 of ArmsCare coverage with your NRA membership. This plan covers insured firearms, air guns, bows and arrows against theft, accidental loss and damage. Learn more about special provisions and limitations of the ArmsCare Plan. For purposes of insurance, claimants must be current, active members of the NRA whose names appear on the NRA membership list.

Collectibles Insurance is the company to go with.

Last year I was looking at buying from them but was concerned about a clause that seemed to exclude carry guns (see thread (Collectibles Insurance Carry Gun EXCLUSION)). I contacted them and through the proactive efforts of Annmarie, they not only changed their future policies to cover personal carry guns but they actually issued endorsements to all existing policies to make the change. They even let me make suggestions to the wording of the change!

When's the last time you've heard of an insurance company doing that???

Collectibles is gun insurer #1 in my book.

How do I verify these guys are any good? What happens if they go tits-up like other companies? I visited the website and can't find a way to see how leveraged they are on assets vs. potential claims.

Thanks!

What did it cost to have the safe repaired?
