Welcome and congrats! You've taken the first few steps in taking responsibility for your personal safety.
however, there are more steps to take if you're serious about not being a victim. I think it was Jeff Cooper who said "having a gun, and thinking that makes you armed is like having a piano and thinking that makes you a musician". Something like that, he probably said it better.
The next step is to take some training classes. The 1 hour class you took was a good start, we'll call that "not putting holes in yourself or loved ones 101"
Now you need to take "putting holes in others 101-104"
Deploying a handgun in a stressful situation is not easy, it's very much worth your time and money to get some instruction. Take a look in the Training Courses forum, I can recommend Robert Desrosiers from personal experience, but pretty much any of th courses listed here are likely to be decent.

Welcome to PAFOA! Congratulations on getting your LTCF! Your Glock 19 is a great 9mm carry gun.

Make sure that you get to the range before you carry though. Not only to make sure that you are proficient with your firearm, but also to make sure that your firearm works. If you just got it, even if you purchased it brand new, you never know if it works properly until you try it out firsthand.

Glad to hear that you took a self defense course already. Good luck!

Stick around here and keep posting and you'll learn a lot... I know I have.
I have been reading posts on this forum and another one called Glock Talk. I'm not a member on Glock Talk but I do read posts on there on a sub forum named "Tactics & Training"

Training isn't just a good idea, it's also a ton of fun, and a good way to meet other firearms owners.

I have to constantly hold myself back from signing up for more courses. I'd take two a month if I had the time/money.

Ooops! Good catch! Since Philly makes up their own gun rules, maybe my acronym means "Lookout! Cops Take Firearms!"

Although in Philly, LTCF means License To Cower in Fear...

Let me quote another one.

Nah, cowering in fear is one of the very few activities you don't need some kind of license for in Philly.

Maybe that will be Nutter's next tax...
