I'm currently in Japan and will be returning home this summer. I'm hoping to get a job at Brinks or something similar.
What kind of certifications would be beneficial? Now for the BIG question: Of these beneficial certifications, which can I take via an online course? Thanks for any suggestions. |

To work armed security at places like Brinks, you'll need your ACT235.
You can't get any of it done online. Here's the website to get you started. http://www.lethalweapons.state.pa.us...te/default.asp

And don't forget how dirty and smelly bags of money can be.

You got that right Dave. And to make it easy for anyone with a problem with that I will gladly take all of that dirty, smelly money off your hands.
![]() As to any overseas course or internet class, not that I know of. Act 235 is what you need, and it is in classroom, no other option. A lot of good guys work armored. A lot get out as soon as they can find a better job.

I'm looking to get into the armored car biz because I'll be living in Canada for a year or two when I get back. I'll be living in a smaller town and there is a Brinks building in that town. I figure it'd be an interesting job that I can get relatively close to home. |

Most provide all the training after they hire. The job is more like UPS with a gun on your hip....there is very little you need to know when it comes to the use of force beyond what is justified and what isn't. You don't have a use of force continuum, and you have no powers of arrest. You have a gun in case someone tries to kill you, that's about it.

mchaley, forget everything we all said about 235, did not know you where going to Canada. 235 is a Pa thing.
