There are several people with my name, except for the middle initial.
At my friends shop, I guess they asked while he was talking to them.
Since he knows my father too, he looked at me and said "You're junior right?" and that was enough to confuse everyone. He was on the phone for a half hour explaning that he said jr...not me.
What confuses me is that they have my drivers license number. Why would the other names come up.

There was no reason, Sr. passed and i just dropped Jr. from my drivers license.

I never knew him, the Jr. didnt mean anything to me. Till I was in first grade I was never even called by my first name, I went by my middle name.

Family and friends still call me by my middle name, half the time when im asked "whats your name" I dont even know what to say LOL

"Who shot JR" from Dallas may have even played a role! Was big during my child hood!

A few years ago I was put into research when I went to buy my first handgun. A week and a half later it came back denied. I filled out the paperwork and challenged their ruling. The pics called a few days later and asked me several questions. When I was a juvenile I was arrested and put on probation for 1 year for doing something stupid. They claimed I never finished my probation, I did. I explained that it was 32 years ago and it was finished and closed out. They said they would have to call and check. A few days later I received the letter "Not prohibited from owning a firearm"

Well Today makes day 11, or 10 if sundays don't count, since starting the PICS check.

I have read all the info I can find on PICS, NICS, and it seems like when your made to wait the 15 days, 8 out of 10 times it will be a denial. This is very discouraging.

Has anyone gotten an approval after 15 days from pics research?
What can be done if im denied, and how long can they run me around, and shit on MY rights?

I am just about at the point where I will go and get my money back. I told him "This is my first gun purchase" and "I don't know anything about buying a gun", he didnt explain anything to me, just got out the papers and started the process.
I have been back to make an aditional payment after being put on research (thinking, its not his fault, he needs my money to stay in business), I have aslo been back to just check on my status, and ask questions on 2 different occasions, now I feel like I am being a bothersome pest, and worry that I will not get ALL my money back.
Can he charge a stocking fee? Do I have to pay for the Instant Background Check that has taken a little longer than an "instant"?

I was thinking about having the wife go somewhere esle and get something, as I am not prohibited. I have checked my own background, 2 State level M2's ARDed out, no drugs or DUI's involved, BUT, how often do you find a "new in the box" 1985 CZ 75 Pre B???

If the wife were to buy the gun I tried to, would that stop my "under research", because I want to see that thru to the end so the next time I get the urge to arm myself, I CAN!

What should I do?

P.S. I made my first payment 2 months ago, I know 15 days isnt very long but 2.5 months is, for me anyway...

I don't mean to sound like an a$$ or anything BUT it's not his job to educate you on the process of purchasing a firearm. He's a buisnessman, it's your job to research whatever it is your doing ie buying a car, house, weapon or dogfood.

See, even you realize it's NOT his fault. The dealer is the only one that can answer about fees he may or may not charge you. I would expect him to charge you for the PICS but who knows. I've seen signs posted in shops that state if your denied you will be charged $XXX

Be careful what you write on the "internet" ... if your suggesting your wife purchase the firearm for you then that would be a SERIOUS crime. Remember it was one of the questions on the form you signed? Give them a couple more days and depending on the outcome file an appeal OR if all checks out go to the store and get your CZ

Some misdemeners will make you a prohibited person! if you could land in jail for a year for them youre finished! if your not prohibited transfers between spouces without pics are legal. however she better be buying it for herself and you better be legal or expect handcuffs in your future!
