State Police are looking for the owner of a nine millimeter pistol, found at Moraine Park.

The handgun was discovered last month and can be claimed at the Butler barracks.

If only we had a Lost/Stolen law, then we'd know the owner! Think of all of the pointless suffering! Think of the women and the children!

I'm surprised they're not using their "non-registry" to see who it is "registered" too.

Wait, that wouldn't serve their purpose...

Exactly....that's only used when they're looking for an excuse to take a gun from someone, not return one.

So do you think they have it in a cardboard box behind the desk marked "Lost and Found?"

Isn't that supposed to be their primary reason for keeping the "sales database", to return firearms to their rightful owner?

No really, thanks for the idea. That should be in a sticky somewhere. Very good information to have. I will save it on my phone as well.

I do. I keep records of the guns I've sold, guns that aren't yet assembled, and even guns that "fell overboard in that horrible boating accident"!

That's a DAMN shame that the government won't be able to confiscate those guns...when the time comes...but hey, shit happens, right?

Well, I guess they could send divers down to search if they really wanted them

Maybe this is a police trick to get stupid criminals to come in and try and claim a gun.

Stupid BG: "Hey Mr. policeman, I lost my gun while doing a drug deal in the park...it was a 9mm".

Cop: OK...your name, please?"
