I got to this part of the thread before reading the rest. If it has been repeated I'm sorry.

I remember the serial numbers for the 4 firearms I carry the most. I also keep sales receipts that have the serials written on them. I feel that anyone who carries should at least know their primary firearm serial number. Anything can happen, one minute you have it, and the next its lost.

I will now proceed to the rest of this thread.

I too keep a written record of what I have. Think I'll go the extra step and take photos too.

But what I'm wondering is....how do you lose a gun? To my own thinking, and I suppose my own methods, this seems like a hard thing to do. I'm kinda anal about where my gun is. Mostly so I don't lose it.

WOW! A holster would suffice! You don't need to put it there to keep from losing it!

Hey, if he feels that's the most secure location that's his choice. Add in the bonus if he ever needs to pull it, the BG will be sitting in jail telling his new friends about the guy that literally "Pulled a gun right out of his ass...."

Let's see...there's SOB (small of back) carry, so that would be COA (crack of ass) carry, I guess

I keep my receipt (gun store I buy most things from has full page receipts) and write the information down on that, and keep it in a fire box along with passport and social security card and my FFL and some DVD's with document backups and the like.

It's a good idea to keep that sort of thing handy, since you never know what could happen.

Oh yes you do. If you did anything on it, its probably still on it rather or not you push the "save" button.. I'm assuming you just don't make your own files, but everything you do at one point and time can pretty much be retrieved..
