I'd say the state police trump the game commission... and even if they don't have the authority, I'd imagine that they'd take the hit for it, not the guy listening to what the cops are telling him.... of course, it's a crazy world we live in. And some game commission officers are on power trips. I got lectured for a good ten minutes about how laying a loaded rifle (with safety on and chamber empty) in the bed of a parked pickup while I adjusted my pack right before I left out would get someone killed. Give me a break. Of course, I could have layed it on the ground, road, log, etc. But, the bed of the pickup causes guns to shoot themselves.... weird. Sorry. Rant.
