Stay away from South Wilkes-Barre.......unless you drive an armored Humvee and have claymores on your front lawn.

The Heights section is so-so, depending on where you might live.

The Mayflower section is pretty quiet. Stay above GAR High School.

Parson (where I may.....not may not live) is nice.

Wilkes Barre isn't that big of a city. You could find a place in one of the out laying towns and still be within a few minutes of where you need to go. I live two towns over, but I can be in downtown Wilkes Barre in five minutes.

Question Re: how is luzerne?

Luzerne county is in the top 5 for homicides for counties in pa
and Wilkes Barre is in the top 5 or 10 for cities in PA

I've lived In the city of Wilkes Barre my whole life.
The bad is sort of weird. you have a very nice street and the next street is horible.

I grew up near hazle st and it was and is still a nice neighborhood but 2 or 3 blocks away is were the shotgun was fired in the area of officers a few weeks ago.
