Its official, the Pro-Gun Activist Legislative Lobbying Day is going to be Wed Nov 18, 2009.
The 18th of Nov will be the next planned activist day. We are going to be staying over night so you have the choice to attend 18th & 19th or both ‘with the proviso’ that your attendance will, in all likelihood, be more effective IF you can come on the 18th (IF you are not able to get off on the 18th but would be available on the 19th you are still welcome.). The 18th is a full House schedule working day so we will have the opportunity to speak with any Rep that we can catch in their office between scheduled floor / caucus activities. It is important to understand that on Thursday Nov 19 the only Reps that are probably going to be in the capital are the ones on the Judiciary committee for the hearing on HB 40 and there “maybe” a brief chance to talk with them before the 10am hearing, so most of the day you will just be sitting in a meeting listening to testimony on HB 40. (It is important to note here that IF you have never seen those who oppose your ‘right to bear’ arms in action you will have the opportunity to observe what they say and how they act in this hearing!) The message below is from Rep Caltagirone, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee Quote:
We will meet up just outside the security check point where you check your firearms. It’s the South entrance at the rear of the Capitol Building by the big water fountain off Commonwealth Ave. If you come in the main entrance (with all the steps) on North 3rd street, you can NOT check firearms here. If you don’t have a firearm you can come in that way and make your way through the building to Commonwealth Ave entrance. There are several nearby parking garages convenient to the capitol building beginning with the glass one off of N 2nd street off of Locust St. by the river. Another parking garage is off the intersection of Forster St &N 7th street by railroad tracks. There are also all kinds of parking meters & other places to park around the capital complex. What we also ask is that you dress in business casual attire with comfortable dress shoes as we will be walking all over the capital complex. The point is to make what we say and information we present the focus of what the Reps will remember not how we dress or looked. It is important to dress appropriately for these events so that we leave a positive impression. I am personally uncomfortable with ties and dress shoes. http://acslpa.org/n-legislative/pa_p...egislation.htm On this link has information that you can study on pending legislation both pro & anti gun, especially read the PA Firearms Laws & PA Commission on Sentencing Reports as it’s the smoking gun that proves the points of the lack of prosecution of criminals with existing laws for whatever reason. If you can make it on Nov 18 please confirm by sending me an email so we have an idea of how many people that will be attending so we can break up into different groups. We would like to try to see all 26 members of the judiciary committee prior to the hearing on the 19th if possible. Here is a list of the judiciary Reps names on this link -- http://www.legis.state.pa.us/cfdocs/...?cde=24&body=H We really hope you can make it to this activist event, to learn how we play politics different than anyone else, by having you sitting down and talking with and educating the elected Reps. Everyone’s attendance holds the keys of success to these kinds of events as most politicians, like TOO MANY gun owners, have no idea of the depth and breadth of the complex firearm laws that currently exist at both the state & federal level. Our objective is to educate them so they focus on criminal control and responsibility of the judicial system and NOT by passing another law that only effects the law abiding citizen, who obey them. |

If anyone wants to hook up from the NE PA area (Scranton, Tobyhanna, Monroe Co.) I've got room. I'll be leaving early and staying as late as possible.
I'd appreciate the company. I-81 is just boring.
