Default D.I.Y. Subforum - PLEASE!!!

Alright most other forums i belong too not dealing with guns have DIY(Do It Yourself) sections where people put the stuff they make on their own into for other people to use or build onto the design. i really think that this would be a good addition to the pafoa forums also.

let me know what you think

Yeah that would be great, I think most gun owners are DIY minded for some reason. Maybe we could make a subforum in the Gunsmithing section because there, the posts usually deal with either homemade stuff or where to get help for a problem. Its hard to tell the two apart by just browsing titles.

the whole thing that got this started for me is the "DIY Case Feeder" on youtube that alot of people have already seen.

if there was a diy section people could brainstorm on ideas of how to build things that arent just guns but other things gun related thats why it needs to be seperated from gunsmithing. all it takes is for 1 person to have a idea and then collectively people from all over PA help refine the idea into a working thing.

or people can share there already built things and give instructions on how to make it so other people can make them for themselves.

Sounds good to me, I'm refinishing an AK as we speak. Was going to post up the pics and procedure soon, and having a place like this to do so would be ideal.

Wouldn't it make sense to use the gunsmithing forum?

You could put a note in the title like [DIY] <title> so people know that it's a do it yourself thread.

Not everything gun related is gunsmithing. (ie: the DIY Case Feeder) Could be DIY Targets, Treestand, Reloading, etc etc

If you do that in a general forum, within a few hours, the post will be pages down, never to be seen again. Keeping them all in a DIY Subforum would be real handy.

A lot of people who post in gunsmithing are just looking for a place to find a gunsmith.
