Bringing this back for the archives for some clarification.....

If I read this right, my gf (not wife for ~ another 18 months) can carry one of my guns as long as she applies for and is approved for a PA LTCF? This should cover the fact we both know she is allowed to own and carry by passing PICS. and the fact that we have the same residence everything should be okay?

Your residing together has nothing to do with it.

Per §6115, Loans of handguns are prohibited unless one of the exceptions are met.

One of the exceptions, §6115(b)(i) is if the person has an LTCF.
So if she has a LTCF you can loan her a handgun - period.

Help me out here. 6115 says that I can "give" a firearm to anyone with a LTCF without going thru a FFL? That don't seem right.

No, 6115 says you may not loan firearms.
An LTCF is one of the listed exceptions to the law.

I did a lot of looking into this and yes you can. You can loan or give a firearm to a person who has a LTCF or the other exceptions under 6115. That person may carry that firearm, as his LTCF is for any legal firearm, even if its not in his name in the State Police files. Also you don't need to go thru a FFL to loan or give a person with a LTCF a firearm. Pa Patriot, you are wrong on this one.
