Default Dukes in New Castle

I give Dukes a 5 out of 5. The crazy ITALIAN behind the counter was full of informaton. Very competitive prices. ALOT of semi auto's, I thought I was in heaven. Anyone out there looking for a good buy go there you won't be disappointed!

They have a very nice shop. When I was in there last I thought the prices were quite high but then again that was during the post election craze. I have been meaning to go back up there.

Stopped there over the weekend. I really like their store. Lots of stuff on hand, helpful staff and a nice selection of handguns. Prices were better than the last time I was in there but while competitive, they are still on the high side on some items.

Dukes is a nice shop. One disappointment is the very limited selection of used guns.

Dealt with them also. Good place to go. Yes, used guns are at a premium, but I had bought a great one early in the summer at a bargain basement price.

Funny you guys bring up the lack of used guns. A gentleman brought a rifle in while I was there that he was looking to sell. I didn't see what it was or anything but the guy behind the counter said he couldn't give him enough for it and declined on it cause he didn't want to upset the guy and said he would be better off keeping it. So his wife pushed the guy and said well what could you give him for it? The guy again try to decline but they kept pushing and the associate said $100 so that's why I am saying you're better off keeping it. Of course this fired the guy up and he said to hi "I paid $300 for a used gun out of here before and now you want to give me $100 for mine? Forget it" and then he left promptly.

No shop will ever give you a good trade or outright buy amount on a used gun. Normally they see what they go for online then figure in a markup and by that time you are looking at $250-300 MAYBE on a gun that is $600-700. They don't really want your junk unless it is something desirable or easy to sell ie a Glock or something. But an old Browning hunting rifle isn't something they'll really want. Bottom line is the dealer is in the business of making a profit just like a car dealer. Plus the amount of used guns available online is immense since dealers don't want to buy them from you or give you enough for them. My dealer always tells customers that want to sell or trade guns "Have you tried to sell it online?" before he will even give them an offer. Otherwise if they can get it for nothing they'll take it off your hands, mark it up $100-200 and try and make some money.
