Default Questions

I am new to this and there are so many rummers about the ltcf. I would like to know a couple things for sure. Is a ltcf the same as a concealed firearm permit. Am i alloud to have a loaded gun in my truck at all times and by loaded does that mean one in the chamber or just the clip in the gun. Am i alloud to wear it on my hip outside my cloths while riding horses in the woods? And also any other rumers to be cleared up would help thank you

The LTCF is kinda like a concealed permit. There is no requirement to conceal. It allows you carry concealed.

Yes, with a LTCF, you can have a loaded "Firearm"* in your vehicle, on your person, with a round chambered.

The only restrictions to Open Carry are, you need a LTCF to OC in Philthy, or in your car, or during a declared emergency.

* Search the definition of "firearm".

"There is no requirement to conceal." seemed misleading when I read it.. there is a requirement to conceal, to conceal you require a LTCF.

I read it out of context as it was meant, so I wanted to clarify.

The one thing that hasn't been addressed is whether you could be construed as being hunting when you are out in the woods. The Pa. LTCF does not grant the right to carry a handgun for the purpose of hunting or fishing. For that you need another license called the Sportsman's Permit which you can get from the County Treasurer for a fee plus presenting a hunting or fishing license. Hope this helps.

Yes your LTCF does cover hunting....

It also allows you to carry a semi pistol, while hunting.

Default Re: Questions

from DCNR website:

http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/statepar...n/hunting.aspx

Firearms and archery equipment used for hunting may be uncased and ready for use only in authorized hunting areas during hunting seasons. In areas not open to hunting or during non-hunting seasons, firearms and archery equipment shall be kept in the owner's car, trailer or leased campsite. The only exception is that law enforcement officers and individuals with a valid Pennsylvania License to Carry Firearms may carry said firearm concealed on their person while they are within the park.

I bolded the above since there is a post here somewhere about someone getting a citation for not concealing their firearm while hiking or riding
