Been there, done that, and it didn't work.

Save your money and buy some ammo.

I generally agree. The NRA has outlived its usefulness, but I joined the NRA (again) at the H-burg gun show in March because of the deal on free admission and additional discount that day. When that expires, I'll join the GOA, if anything.
I also joined ProTell, because the Swiss gunowners are cool and righteous.
I'm an AMA memeber just so I can participate in events, but since I stopped doing that last year, I let it lapse.
I generally don't like to "belong" to anything. I'm not needy that way. That's why I finally decided not to pledge at a fraternity when I was in college although one was wooing me.
I like the fact the the PAFOA is not a genuine "organization" and I hope it stays that way. I prefer a large, yet loose association of people who will come together to lobby when it really matters.

Tell Ted Nugent that about the NRA and I think you'll get a very different opinion.

Why would I possibly want Ted Nugent's opinion about anything other than playing a guitar?

You don't think that NUGE has a valid opinion on 2A rights? He's one of our most vocal supporters.

When Nugent was a speaker at the NRA's 2005 National Convention in Houston, he received an enthusiastic reception from the delegates, telling them: "Remember the Alamo! Shoot 'em! To show you how radical I am, I want carjackers dead. I want rapists dead. I want burglars dead. I want child molesters dead. I want the bad guys dead. No court case. No parole. No early release. I want 'em dead. Get a gun and when they attack you, shoot 'em.
I agree with everything he said.
