Lock 'N Load Trailer
Introducing Lock 'N Load, a new hidden-camera Showtime reality series. Premieres Wednesday, October 21st at 8pm ET/PT. http://www.sho.com/site/video/bright...id=41483900001 http://www.sho.com/site/video/bright...id=18852079001 http://www.sho.com/site/video/bright...id=18945594001 Looks interesting... Although I see some scary gun handling (and lack of help/instruction/supervision) in some of the trailer clips.

I just saw these trailers last night before Dexter. At first I was like "Oh great - another documentary designed to get Average Viewer to think of gun owners as a bunch of unstable weirdos".
At this point, I'm cautiously optimistic that we'll see a very wide range of people - folks that appear to make sense and folks that are way out on the fringe. We'll likely see more of those lunatic fringe folks than there truly are given the sample population represented by the show, simply because the crazies are far more interesting in a TV show, but hopefully that won't be the focus. Hopefully there's a few Showtime viewers on this forum that will discuss here once it starts airing. |

I thought Lock 'N Load was the new R. Lee Ermy show. BTW, his show is made of awesome and win.

I'm very excited for the show. From what I've seen it looks like Armed America meets Reality TV.
I imagine it will have some poor gun handling, dumb people, etc. But anything that tries to reflect American gun ownership and the breadth of it's appeal cannot avoid it. To ignore them is no different than to focus on them. My only expectation is sweet-ass rockabilly chicks in 1080 HD goodness.

I just saw the promos for the show as well. It looks promising.
My roommate told me about it a few days ago, thinking it was on HBO. I figured it was Nancy Pelosi's daughter making another hit-piece, but apparently it's not. From what I've seen in the promos it looks like it will show an honest account of what goes on, plus some of them are downright pro-gun. The "how does it make you feel" piece should be an NRA or GOA public service message. I already have Showtime, so I'll definitely watch it. This is one of those shows where it may make good sense to "talk with our wallets". If it is an honest representation, which it appears to be, then a bunch of new subscribers would send a message to the network that being at least impartial about guns makes good business sense. Or just buy the DVD when it comes out.
