Greeting gentlemen,
What powder could I use to reload 44 mag that will give me a really decent muzzle blast, just for fun, out of a 2-3" barrel? I'm talking about 2-4 feet of flash. I have several long revolvers, including S&W and Colt, and now considering purchasing a really short revolver, perhaps another S&W with a 2" barrel. ps my club won't let me fire muzzleloader revolvers inside. |

I didn't think of that! Sounds like a good idea. My concern is the chemistry of the powders could interfere with each other and somehow lead to a detonation. They will mix up after a while.

Shouldn't be a problem. Both smokeless and black powder are stable and their chemical make up shouldn't be a problem. IIRC, that is how Hollywood makes some of their effects to enhance the filming of gun shots (dramatic night fights scenes).
