Default Indiantown Gap cemetery?

Is it illegal to carry there. What about the public roads that run through Indiantown Gap?

Good question and heres my input...It's a "National Cemetary" ie Federal Property...as such, all federal laws, rules, regs apply. I would find it hard to believe that in such a place, where many brothers and sisters are laid to rest, anyone would raise a stink about someone exercising A right that these fine men and woman sacrificed for.

What country do you live in?

FTIG was turned over to the state BUT the cemetary is still FEDERAL property. The VA police patrol that area; NOT the FTIG police. Bottom line, FTIG is legal BUT the cemetary is still federal property.

So, as Federal property, it is illegal to carry there. Will that change in Feb.? 2010?

uhhh...I don't think so? It's not a national park is it? It's just "federal property" like the post office, isn't it? Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

as far as driving through there, your good, its considered a public road i drive through there several times a week...

when driving through there though i would suggest obeying the speed limits 35 and 45 mph depending on what side your driving through, they are not MP's any more but a private police force and they are pricks, and they do not give warnings.. just an fyi

I believe Indiantown Gap comes under the Department of Veterans Affairs. As such, IMO, weapons would be prohibited under
38 CFR § 1.218 -

Quote:
§ 1.218 Security and law enforcement
at VA facilities.
(a) Authority and rules of conduct.
Pursuant to 38 U.S.C. 901, the following
rules and regulations apply at all property
under the charge and control of
VA
(and not under the charge and control
of the General Services Administration)
and to all persons entering in
or on such property
. The head of the facility
is charged with the responsibility
for the enforcement of these
rules and regulations and shall cause these rules and regulations to be posted
in a conspicuous place on the property.

(13) Weapons and explosives. No person
while on property shall carry firearms,
other dangerous or deadly weapons, or
explosives, either openly or concealed,
except for official purposes.

VA is veterans administation.

What you're trying to say is DMVA which is department of military and veternas AFFAIRS. NOT administration. Two different things. Now if you're talking about the cemetary then yes, it's federal property.
