One in the house, yes. I feel that having a fire in my car would just not be needed. If my car would ever be even partly on fire, there's not really a point to saving the rest of the car. It's obviously going to get scrapped if I had an engine fire. And I will be safe, because I will have gotten out. It will suck watching a car burn to the ground, but It's not like the car is worth anything even if there's a small fire in the car.
As a side thought, I guess there could bea scenario where I come across a burning mini van with children inside, and it's too hot to get close to rescue. SHIT! After thinking that, I think I might start carrying a small extinguisher now. Funny, my dad is a prof. firefighter, and I didn't think to have one. Of course, he doesn't carry one in his vehicles either. To add: is there a special type for cars. I.E., is it ok to ahve a regular fire extinguisher in car. With all the jostlings about, bumps and what not.

I have extinguishers in my home and vehicle. The one in my truck is not so much for me as for rendering assistance to others. If I see a wreck where an occupant is trapped in a vehicle, putting out a fire would likely be the best help I could offer.

In the house, yes.
In the car, no. I guess having one in the car is not a big priority for me because, in the event that my car burns to a crisp, my insurance -will-should-hopefully might pay for it. If my house burns down, I will be a heck of a lot less likely able to recoup all of my losses from insurance. And even if I did somehow recover all of the monetary losses, that would be monetary value of used equipment and furniture, which would be a pain in the arse to try and replace all of it. So, long story short, if my car is on fire I'll be happy running away calling for professionals... if my house catches fire I'll be much more likely to risk myself while attempting to put it out. Not to mention, you may need to 'fight your way out of' a burning house, not so much a car. |

I keep one in my car just in case I see something like this:
Granted a fire extinguisher wouldn't have helped in this scenerio but maybe a small one. |

I think I have about 7-8.
Funny part is, I never even take notice (ADHD) untill I have to move one or get something near one. .

I marked "Home and Vehicle" even though at the moment I don't own any.
I had a nice size one in my car and one at home, but I used the one i carried in the car, so I put the one from the house in the car... and then used it again ... So I'm out both my extinguishers. I really want to get a rechargeable one for in the car... but right now cash flow (or, rather, the lack there of) prevents me from even replacing the ones I've used.
