If nothing else, at least tell us which hotel it was, so we can avoid it, as well.

Doesn't your auto insurance kick in, at some point? What about AAA?

Did you file a police report? Doesn't the police report state where exactly the theft and vandalism occurred?

Make a case! Go through their insurance or settle out of court. Hotels don't want bad publicity, its bad for business. Might be in their best interest to just cut you a nice fat check.
Just a fat check??? A morbidly obese check would be better

Really sucks, KAOS. Wonder if the same creeps that robbed you came back the next night and damaged your vehicle?

If you ever plan on going back to OH, you should check into a FL or UT permit so you can legally carry your gun on your person.

Sorry for your loss of goods, but glad to hear you and your family are ok.

Anything on the hotel tapes? Can you request copies of them?

Shouldn't the police be requesting them? They should be considered evidence, right? I would think so.

The hotel is responsible being it all happened on their property. I'm sure the cameras happened to be not working on those nights.

They probably should. They may have better things to do than actually investigate a crime.

If those cameras happened to be not working that night, I would look for an inside job.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit, Steve.

There should be records (police reports) on how many incidents have taken place at that hotel. I'm betting there are more than just Kaos'.

I'd be hell bent for leather on hanging the hotel on this one.

The guy who was outside talking to us from the hotel said some of the cameras are fake...so who knows. They charge $5 for a 20oz pepsi in the park and the cameras are fake? give me a break.

Im not sure of the proper way to pursue getting any damages from the hotel. The police officer admitted to us that it's a pretty bad area as far as crime is concerned, maybe they should have a disclaimer on their site (Would you like a crime filled or crime free area?).

They're getting a letter from me this weekend, I just havent figured exactly what I should be asking for - the hotel likely will say they're not responsible for stuff in their parking lot.

I was able to scrounge up a little cash for a replacement carry pistol so Im going to start looking. It's hard to afford anything with the economy the way it is and another child on the way with medical bills piling up like they are.

Kaos,
What kind of firearm was stolen? Do you know the SN? It never hurts to spread the info out across the online communities, maybe someone will catch up with it, who knows. I'm glad your family is safe. If we can help in anyways just say so.

If I was closer Id sell you a carry peice cheap until you could afford a good one and sell mine back to me, but alas you waaaayyyyy out west. Maybe someone from PAFOA can work something out for you out there.

As far the hotel, dont let up. They will keep telling you they are not responsible , but that is for a jury to decide. Research ohio law and find out if they truly are and send them a certified copy ( on legal letterhead if possible ). Keep pushing , most likey if you make enough noise they will pay you to go away.

Also , id tell your insurance if they do not actually cover your car for this then you are taking your buisness else where. What good is insurance if they dont cover you when you need it?
