Glocker, how Jersey Shore are you? What town? I live in this commie state as Fingers would say. I'm as Jersey Shore as you can get. If you're not too far I belong to a really nice gun club I wouldn't mind showing you, if you're interested.

Wildwood is where I would be staying.........not real familiar with NJ other then the shore points vacationed in while growing up.

Not familiar at all with the gun laws in NJ as you can obviously see. Guns became my hobby in adulthood, and now traveling with a gun while vacationing has become a concern. I don't want to break any laws, and am finding that I have a lot to learn about NJ/guns before I proceed.

Wildwood Ok That's about an hour south of me on the parkway. I'm in Central Jersey, Toms River, Seaside Hts., Point Pleasant, Island Beach State Park, anything sound familiar? Wildwood is down there, but if you get bored and up for the ride, contact me. I'm sure you'll have a computer and bring your Dad if he's interested. I can bring 2 guests at a time.
I do wildwood for bike week sometimes, ah same ol
check it out on the web just type in Jersey Central Rifle and pistol Club, and you'll see what we have.

Simple choice really.

I agree with you 100 percent. But facts are facts and his parents have a place in NJ. I go to Pa. for that exact reason. We love it there and we love the fact the our 2nd A rights are honored there.

Another reason I love this Commonwealth-

Quote:
18 Pa CSA §6106 (b) Exceptions.-The provisions of subsection (a) shall not apply to:
(8) Any person while carrying a firearm unloaded and in a secure wrapper from the place of purchase to his home or place of business, or to a place of repair or back to his home or place of business, or in moving from one place of abode or business to another or from his home to a vacation or recreational home or dwelling or back, or to recover stolen property under section
This is the way NJ vacationers want it to be. Unfortunately I can find no similar enablement in NJ for transport between residences and vacation residences so - if you go to NJ IMO you are limited to a self-defense spray provided:

Quote:
NJSA 2C:39-6i. [exemptions]
Nothing in N.J.S.2C:39-5 shall be construed to prevent any person who is 18 years of age or older and who has not been convicted of a felony, from possession for the purpose of personal self-defense of one pocket-sized device which contains and releases not more than three-quarters of an ounce of chemical substance not ordinarily capable of lethal use or of inflicting serious bodily injury, but rather, is intended to produce temporary physical discomfort or disability through being vaporized or otherwise dispensed in the air. Any person in possession of any device in violation of this subsection shall be deemed and adjudged to be a disorderly person, and upon conviction thereof, shall be punished by a fine of not less than $100.00.
