what can you even see at 27000 yrds to even range it, even maritime situations.... even a carrier is to small at that range to rweally see

They use them to judge boat distance, bouys, how far off a certain land mass you are when skirting the shoreline. Water police boats chasing after you! Just kidding on the last one.

I just picked up a Bushnell, Compact, 600. Seems to work nice on groundhogs out to 100 yards. Gotta go find some space and check it out. It even is a 4x power to boot.
