Re: Tactical Shotgun Pics
Well alrighty then. I've wanted to post to this great thread but lack a digital camera. My crap camera from 1973 will have to suffice.
That long, blurry looking thing is a Mossberg 590 with the Blackhawk SpecOps recoil stock and power pack. The light mounted has actually surprised me tremendously. It's a simple $15 tube mount and a cheap LED flashlight. I've put hundreds of rounds through the shotty and the mounts never loosened and the flashlight has never failed. I've removed both for factory strip and clean and remount using a dot of blue threadlock.
The heat shield is a Mossberg product that they claim can't be mounted on a 590.
I keep the long blurry thing loaded with 8 rounds of Federal LE 00 Buck and 5 Federal LE slug in the power pack.
The blurry lil black thing is a Ruger 22/45. The shiny, tiny thing is a S&W 642 w/ Crimson Trace grips.
Oh, the second picture is the Mossy before the sling, my vest, ham radio, bug out ammo bag and back pack for Zombie sheit.Last edited by Peddler; August 20th, 2009 at 12:38 PM.

Re: Tactical Shotgun Pics
Here is mine. Mossberg 590A1 Choate Youth stock Tacstar sidesaddle and surefire 623FA. I tried The Knoxx Stock and did not care for the pistol grip but I did like the lop so I went with the Choate and so far so good

Here is my 870 with Speedfeed furniture, TacStar side saddle, GG&G forward sling mount, and I forget who made the sling.

Re: Tactical Shotgun Pics
I left all the shot shell holders off my 870 tactical express and just went with a sling with elastic holders and a velcro wrap pad. I just only load 3/4's of the holders, and then put the wrap pad over them. I mixed it up into sections of 3" 00BK, slugs, and #4BK. Take your pick bad guys! Knoxx pistol grip stock, hogue forend, el-cheapo heat shield.
All this talk of breaching barrels. Mine came with a ported breaching choke. Shit is wicked looking. And really pointy...
Only picture I have with the sling on it. I'll add a light as soon as Peddler tells me where he got that mount for $15.

Re: Tactical Shotgun Pics
I was at Trop gun shop today looking at tacticool shotties and noticed a new Escort brand tac shotgun, I'm at work so I cant link to the website but it had the most wicked looking door breacher barrel I have ever seen.
I'm not kidding, it looked like they WANT you to sharpen the tips to razors, it was almost rediculous how sharp and pronounced it was.The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.

Re: Tactical Shotgun Pics
Well the price has risen to $22 but here are the flashlight mounts. They have two sizes. I bought the smaller one so I'd be sure I had space between the tube supports on my 590. Shipping was fast because they're located in Roaring Spring, PA. They're about 1/3 way down the page and they're called "Leapers TriRail Shotgun Barrel Mount"

I bought the flashlight at an auto parts store for about $3.99. At that price I bought 3 of them in case one failed. The first is still going strong LOL.
edit: For those that have wondered how to put the Mossberg Heat Shield on a 590. The factory's says you can’t do it but it can be done and its relatively easy. These were the instructions I followed, being careful not to scratch the barrel when you slip the large end of the heat shield over the thicker part of the barrel.

The problem will be, once it's on you'll likely have a time getting it off. My biggest concern was being able to lubricate the tiny space between the heat shield and barrel. My solution is to spray the hell out of it with synthetic oil and let it drain a little while. Wipe what you can clean and lean the shotgun up against the wall with the muzzle pointed down and on some newspaper. It will drain further but after a few hours it stops and the area is well lubricated.
All for the tacticool look LOL. It does make a big difference in appearance though.Last edited by Peddler; August 26th, 2009 at 01:52 PM.
