Talking best Sh*t hit the fan scenario

ok,
I don’t know about you guys and gals but deep down we all have our darkest fears as to what the end of the world will be. some believe in revelations, some believe in climate change, some even believe zombies will take over the world (my personal favorite) The "Sh*t Hit the fan Scenario"......This post is not meant to be serious, just a fun thread about the end of the world scenario.

For me since I am a big "Night of the living dead" fan, I would have to go with the world being taken over by zombies and you have to fight for your daily existence movies are such inspirations to the mind……maybe that’s why people stock up so much on ammo!

Anyone else have any scenario's they like?

It wouldnt be a gun forum without the mandatory "SHTF" thread!

I'd be more inclined for something a little more realistic, like John Titor Armageddon and whatnot.

What I think would be one of the most devastating and realistic situations has to do with nukes. I ain't saying it would be the end of the world, but it would definately be a $H!T hits the fan moment for the US or a country it happened in. Say a large nuclear warhead was detonated over the US in the atmosphere, I ain't talking little one, but a very large one. If this occured, it would cause a large EMP (electro magnetic pulse) over the entire US. This would fry anything that had some sort of computer parts or silicon board, or hard drive in it. We're talking about your cars, computers, atm's, alot of heaters and airconditioners, cash registers, telephones, cellphones, tv's, radios. Pretty much anything electronic would be wasted, including the computers and databases that hold the electronic information for how much people have in the bank, currency, stock market, etc. The EMP would also have some fallout in the atmosphere that would keep radios like broadcasts you listen to in your car, and possibly 2 way radios from working. With this break down of communication, technology and other things, total anarchy could ensue. There would be tons of looting, killing, and you couldn't even call the police to come help. In some areas it might not be a big deal, but in alot of places large street gangs would rule everything. I'm just saying, it's a bit unprobable, but if it did occur, it could be devasting and leave the entire US in ruin.

I agree TomCat. There is a nifty little survival book from the 80s made by the US Guv-mint, that deals on what to expect during a nuclear exchange.

It basically says that first, there would be several high altitude detonations, just to fry anything electronic (although, anything not plugged in would not be affected).

Then, about 15 or 20 mins, you'd get the main attack. Meant to devastate infrastructure and cause mass casualties.

But I agree, it would be utter chaos.

The reason that the dawn of the dead scenario is so popular is because it is the one where the video game culture in us could come out. When it is no longer amoral to mow down hundreds/thousands... Many would enjoy the scenario.

If anyone remembers the original dawn of the dead movie, they fly over a bunch of guys (rednecks) in central PA who were lined up in their hunting gear mowing down the zombies. The female character makes a comment like "they look like they're enjoying themselves" And I think that is true and would be true of many in the gun culture.

In a well armed culture, a zombie outbreak should be readily containable. However, we are no longer a well armed culture.

exactly Drew,
When there is no more room in hell.......the dead will walk the earth. But i loved the moves even before all the video game hype.
Make sure everyone has their head shot equipment.

You guys have way too much time on your hands. IF SHTF happens...better wear some clean tidy whities and hope you practiced enough.

Drak, if SHTF you could always cry like a little girl and pray that I come and rescue you from your wife...forget the zombies. HAHA
