Harrisburg is Republican controlled, and Philadelphia is a Democratic majority. The Democrats can't stand being told what to do by Harrisburg Republicans, and have been chafing under Republican subservience for years. Their fear is that Harrisburg Republicans will play politics and undermine the Democratic support, triggering a Republican victory in the Philadelphia mayoral election.

Each Philadelphia Democratic mayor needs to creep closer to the edge to look "effective", sooner or later one of the mayors will cross the line.

I doubt much will happen this time as long as Rendell's in office. It'll require a pretty strong vote to override hizzoner.

Has anyone filed formal complaint against the mayor and his flunkies for their attempted laws yet?

I sent a letter to PA AG Corbett asking him to begin a criminal investigation against Nutter and the entire City Council. I faxed copies of the letter to Nutter and various members of City Council.

Please let us know what the response is, I am curious to see it in writing.

IIRC, the AG's office doesn't have the authority to prosecute as it stands now.
