not going to happen legally unless your a manufacturer, which i'm guessing your not since you don't know about where to find the parts.
86' ban put a stop to the manufacturing (IIRC, someone more knowledgeble can correct me on that)

correct, no further MFG of machineguns of any type for civilains since the FOPA was passed in 1986.
Post 1986 MGs are for Military/Gov/LE use only, and are issued by those agencies. so, the only way you can legally convert an AK these days is if you are a licensed C2 manufacturer basically. sorry, no "conversions" are legal for civvies, unless you are a SOT. I'm gonna lock this now, question answered.
