Please do, and keep us updated. I'm very curious to see how this shakes out.

Be sure to mention to corporate that I have personally spoken to Mr. Biedenharn on multiple occasions over this type of incident, and the response has always been that lawful carry of any type is welcome in the store.
Did you get the name of the employee you interacted with today? |

I did not get his name i was a little upset at the situation and just left my stuff on the counter and left.
I did mention in my e mail to corperate that this has been an issue before and that Mr. Biedenharn has spoken to one of our other menbers on this matter. I will also do my best like i said before to get there policy in writting so that if this does happen again i will be able to show them the proper policy, if indeed they do not have a problem with open carry. I will keep it updated as i get more info. Scott. |

I spent a couple hours in that Cabela's yesterday, and I was OCing the entire time. Got a couple looks, fewer than I expected considering the crowds, but no one ever said a word to me about it. I'm curious what reply you'll get from corporate.

I was in there for a bit Saturday morning, OC, and no one said anything to me.

I live 5 minutes from Cabelas (when I'm home anyway) and I can tell you that they have a very inconsistently enforced policy. One trip I made there to purchase a holster for a P11 I normally pocket carried I was asked to check the firearm at the front counter even though it was concealed, the next trip I was told open or concealed carry was authorized, another trip I was told concealed only, oc was not allowed. I don't know what the official policy is, only that the employees don't appear to know it either.

I've been in there more times than I can remember, talked with other customers, many different employees, and openly carried with several friends. I have met other members of the forum here openly carrying. None of us has been hassled. I have to wonder if this is a new guy or something.
I was teasing Mrs. Plinker about needing to go, so maybe I should go today. Of course, it is no fun lugging all that stuff up from the store door to the truck in all this rain. But if a point needs to be made, someone needs to make it, right?
